The Fellowship of the Ring is a single-player action-adventure game in which, in a storyline faithful to the first part of JRR Tolkien's epic novel, players relive the experiences of Frodo, Aragorn and Gandalf as they journey from the peaceful lands of the Shire through the darkness of Moria to the River Anduin. On their quest to protect the One Ring from the Dark Lord Sauron, players will explore the massive environments of Middle-earth while solving puzzles and fighting enemies such as Orcs, Black Riders and an evil Balrog.
  • Based on the JRR Tolkein book
  • Play as Frodo, Gandalf or Aragorn, each with special means to overcome obstacles
  • Challenge 28 types of enemies with varying degrees of intelligence and behaviour
  • Environmental and varied special effects
  • Unleash the power of the most powerful artefact in Middle Earth--but at what price?

It's a good game but VERY VERY HARD, it starting getting hard within about 15 minutes of gameplay, took me about 2 n half hours just to get past black riders! but you get to play as lots of different characters etc

it was very epic well the layout anyway , the gamemakers had the right idea of the setting but one thing lacked and that was character design none of these characters looked like the people from the film at all which i was disapointed about , other than that the gameplays good the fights are easy when you know what ur doing you control frodo at the start then you have aragorn for a bit then have gandalf the grey, the annoying thing on this game was trying to get past the ringwraiths at the shire but all u had to do was to throw stones to get them to run to the stone, but after that i found the game real easy!!! i recommend this game to all lord of the rings fans but be warned it could disapoint but as a lotr fan myself i really like it the music is great too very chilling

A rubbish lord of the rings game but can be fun and hard

This is the worst j.r.r Tolkien game but can be fun 7+. Not 11+ surely.

This game encapsulates the true adventure aspect of JRR Tolkien's world of middle-earth in a way that the EA games just can't do. It is fun and exciting throughout and a joy to play. OK, it is quite challenging at some parts, but isn't that a good thing? At least it is not a monotonous, hack n' slash game like the EA 'Lord of the Rings' games!! I was pleasantly surprised by this game when I first picked it up and played it! There are great boss battles, superb weaponry and action, ground-breaking adventure elements and decent graphics. A top PS2 game! I totally recommend this one!!

 Better than EA

Although I liked EA's version of the two towers, i found it quite difficult, so was very pleased when i found this for less than two pounds. There are plenty of battles in it, but there is more substance and it alot more enjoyable, because you can interact with other characters and there are sometimes various tasks to do, rather than killing things all the time. The only part i found difficult is getting past the black riders in the shire, it took me aaaages to do this, but after that i fell in love with this game. This is more for people who aren't too great at games like the EA version. Another plus is that it's more based on the books, which are much better than the films (as great as they are)!
