This is quite easily THE best game ive ever played! Yes even better than Goldeneye on the N64! Ive not put it down for 18 months!! There is just so much to do and collecting everything will take ages! It looks fantastic, plays like no other Resident Evil, I was unsure if the new way of playing the game would have made it better, but it works so well i hope it continues. The game is now 3rd person which makes shooting baddies much more fun and entertaining, you can choose where to shoot them unlike Resident Evil games of old. Do you save ammo and go for difficult head shots or just go in all guns blazing and hope you hit something? Its entirely up to you. This is emphisised on boss battles wher accurate shots are a must. New for Resi 4 is the ability to upgrade you arsenal, what starts off as a feeble handgun at the start of the adventure becomes a formidable handcannon by the end! The ability to spend money on your weaponry is a welcomed new addition, it works really well. This game is genuinely scary in places, with some really quite disgusting looking creatures! If you have not already played this game then you really must! I cannot reccomend it highly enough, its fantastic! Its a modern day classic, Pac Man, Super Mario Bros. and Resident Evil 4. I just hope Resident Evil 5 will continue with the brilliance!

 Best game ever!

I hadn't really played any of the resident evil games previous to buying this one, and the closest point of comparison i had was the dino crisis games on psone (also made by capcom). But i just fancied a new horror game to keep me busy, and for under £10, it's a bargain!!!

I was very pleased with the length of the game as well. Without spoiling it, there are many points where you move to a new area and are delighted to know you've not completed the game yet.

The gameplay is brilliant, graphics are very good for ps2, it has some wonderful scary moments and as i've already said, it's under £10....

If you're a fan of first person shooters, or horror games or just want something new to play without breaking the bank, get it, now. Its awesome!! :)

Resident evil does more need to be said?....it does actually

Unlike previous resident evil titles this one uses an over the shoudler camera view and allows the player to pinpoint and shoot anywhere he/she pleases which is a vast improvement from previous titles which felt very restrictive as the series wen on.

The game moves away from the traditional slow dumb zombies players fought in Racoon city and replaces them with psychotic Spanish peasants who are under the influence of a parasite. These enemies are much smarter and have the ability to wield weapons but still have a hard time dealing witha shotgun blast to the face.

I bought this game as soon as it was released and I have never been disappointed by I would go as far as to say it has been one of the highlights of the PS2 along with Metal Gear solid 3 and Gran Turismo 4.

My only complaint on this game is that sometimes the camera can fail the player and get them killed because while aiming Leon takes up the bottom left of the screen which reduces your vision drastically if you are surrounded.

I rate this 10/10 because I had so much fun playing and I still frequently visit it to pop some heads.

 Perfectly Evil

Top 100 PC Reviewer

I borrowed this game from a friend and wasn't sure I'd like it, not being a Resi fan.

How wrong was I? This is one of the best games I have ever played, and I kept it for ages because I didn't want to hand it back! Now it's out on Platinum, I feel a purchase coming on...

Everything about the game is excellent - story, graphics, gameplay, missions, enemies, bosses, difficulty levels. I would say that this is as good as gaming gets on the PS2 console. If you haven't played this, you are missing out.

One of the best for the PS2

Top 100 Games Reviewer

I suppose this review is kind of meaningless because it should be common knowledge by now that Resident Evil 4 is a fantastic game. There are also the numerous "10/10" reviews that this has received to consider. But if you want an overview, Resi 4 is great because of its' lifespan (about 12 hours), its' bosses, the revolutionary "over the shoulder" aim (inspiring Uncharted and Gears of War), great weapons, great graphics and, of course, an atmosphere with moments to scare you senseless. I cannot describe how it is that, to walk around a mutant infested town knowing that you are out of ammo and you need to find some OR ELSE, can make you feel both terrified but also sooo content and triumphant when you finally do. It is very hard to find something to criticise here because everything is practically perfect. A definate must have for the PS2, only God of War, Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy 12 can equal it in its' greatness. Only a year 'till Resident Evil 5!!
