Ah Nostalgia, Metal Gear Solid although not the most realistic of stealth games provided an instantely likeable main character and a complex intriguing story that kept you hooked until the closing credits. Much of the Originals greatness came from the story and twists of Snakes Life itself leaving you loving his character and history and, lets be honest, wanting to be as cool, tough and just simply awesome, as him yourself. What a huge shame Snake is only playable for , say, an hour of Metal Gear Solid 2, and although still a good game the story provided such complexity and twists that many gamers were left with a feeling of unfulfilment and frustration, not least at the character Raidens Girly Physique, Hair and whiney Voice. so it is with great Pleasure that Hideo Kojima decided to go back in time and tackle the Very roots of Snake himself Albeit playing Solid Snakes Father Big Boss, Voiced by David Hayter we are once again unleashed into a world of Stealth, intruiging characters exciting plot twists and, Oh thank The God of Metal Gear Solid, One of the best damn computer Game Characters ever. Snake Is back in a game that is twice as long as its predeccessors, just as good as Metal Gear Solid 1 and with nice shiney graphics to make you forgive Hideo and his team for making you play as (lets call him) PIT STAINS for most of Game 2. With multiple backstabbings, and so many freakin' twists at the end this game is a joy to play, using the same engine as Number 2 it is not so much a complete revolution of the gaming experience but with a wonderfully told story that remenisces of Bond mixed with Rambo 2 We have here a fantastic return to form and something that good old snake can be proud of. If people were put off by Number 2 then dont let that fool you, Buy this game, it'l probably be going cheap now, and it wont be regretted, You start to feel sorry for Big Boss throughout and its no surprise why he eventually turned out how he did. The only slight flaw is that there's no cyborg Ninja, which is why the first game still has the edge.
Buy this and lets forget Raiden ever lived, oh the game even rips it out of him at several parts and so its good to see It still has its old Humour.
Great GReat GAME
Shame Number 4's got Raiden in it, you'd think he would have learned better.
Hideo Kojima is a genius for coming up with metal gear. I've played all of them and its the best games series i've ever played. This game is set before mgs1 in the cold war. For a ps2 game the graphics are brilliant. Highly recommend this game to anyone.
Big Boss adventure.Pushed ps2 graphic power to maximum.New elements.Nice story.Recommended for all and specially for those who have played MGS4 and not the rest MGS.
Konami has really done it again.
Not the best in the series but still one of the best games that I've ever played. A great storyline and boss battles you'll take to your grave....
For anyone that loved metal gear solid 1, this is the game for you. It has all the stuff MG1 had and much much more. You can even play this game for fun, mucking around with your enemys. After MG2 i was a little dissapointed but now that MG3 (Snake Eater) has arrived i still hold out for the next Metal Gear. 100% Great Game!
