Right cracking cockney barrel of monkeys this game 'ere!

I remember playing this BEFORE Grand Theft Auto and marvelling at the gameplay and graphics. It was all so exciting to take part in the story. London has been mapped out to an absolute tee, I would plan my Saturday shopping spree routes down in Central London with this game!

This style of game has come a long way since but this is definitely worthy of your time. The mechanics have been cleverly thought out, the chacterisation and voice overs are strong and the story engaging.

You could do a lot worse.

 Its Ok

It's like the British version of GTA, except your more limited to what you can achieved. Once you unlock free roaming... then I suppose its cool, but that comes like half way through the game. The map layout is superb though, its identical to London e.g London Eye Big Ben etc.. but as i said... it is limited and can get a little boring.

 Only game I ever needed

I was never a big game console junkie, I had a PS2 for a couple of years and I only ever had two games, Everything or Nothing, The James Bond game and this and frankly, it was the only game I ever needed and played.
The story was strong and it played out like an epic movie. The opening level set it off on a dark and uncompromising tone with a powerful theme of revenge and from there, you just got more and more involved.
There are some really strong scenes of torture and you really see the world of gangsters in a brutally honest light, it's a nasty world and you wouldn't really want anything to do with it if you were sensible. Highly recommended and by the way, the other star of the show is London itself, which is brilliantly brought to life by decent graphics.
I only have one question, to those who played the sequel, is Black Monday really that good? I never played that, didn't think it could measure up to this great original, but that's my loss huh?

 London GTA

This is a classic game. The makers got the detail of London really good and the characters are really good, proper cockney n all, triads, yardies etc. Very good graphics, script and game play. Good variety of cars and guns.

 Great

Great Story - Easy to get into
Likeable and hateable characters
Long story mode
Good graphics
Loads of cars - can be hard to control.
Loads of guns - including the ability to have a pistol in each hand.
London looks awesome
Characters are well modelled
Better than GTA in many ways.
