Guitar Hero DOES rock the 80's!

I'm a huge fan of the Guitar Hero series (bought GH2 on release and completed it on Expert in 3 hours).

And this is a brilliant game, don't let the other reviews fool you.

As for not hearing of these songs....I was born in '89 and even I know them.

As for medium being too easy...Why not play on hard or expert instead?

Players of old or new should pick this up, it's not only a party game, because it's fun to rock out when nobody is watching :D

Oh, and good luck with the final encore, you're going to need it!

People are so shallow- this game rocks!

What's the point of having over played songs on Guitar Hero? If you want the same old songs, go get one of the free CDs that the Sunday papers give away! I've heard of loads of the songs. And if people grew up in the 80s and never heard heard of Flock Of Seaguls, Anthrax, Scorpions, The Police, Judas Priest, The Dead Kennedys or Ronnie James Dio, well they must have been living under a rock (no pun intended)! Or are they the type of people who buy the album for just the single(s)? Because people like that make musicians like me sick!

The game is cool. I agree, nothing new, but it will tide us over til GH3, which with any luck WONT have "wednesday kareoke night at the pub" songs from start to finish =D

           What a disappointment

The problem does not relate to the fact that Rock The 80's is no more than an add on to the the previous titles, "with that 80's glitter". The options in the previous versions were fine, the problem is pure and simple, the songs are rubbish.
This is doing nothing more than taking advantage of the previous success without adding anything to the series, and if the series is to continue in this fashion, it will be interesting to see who the company deem to be "Rock Legends"

           Major let-down

My brother bought this game, and I presumed the title meant every song would be an '80's classic'. Wrong answer. Between me, my brother and a couple friends, we'd heard of about three of the songs. As a GH game goes, quite good, but extremely misleading. More suitable for older gamers.

           What a rip...!

As said before, there was nothing in this game that hadn't already been done in GHII, there are only 30 pretty obscure songs (I grew up in the 80s and barely recognised any of them!) and unlike the two before, there is no option to buy extra tracks as you progress. Medium level is far easier than GHI or II, which is probably a good thing because I had no wish to have to play these songs over and over again to get 5 stars.
Frankly, unless you're desperate for some new songs to play, I would avoid this game like the plague!
