Releasing exclusively for the PlayStation 2, the sequel to the critically acclaimed 3rd person action adventure Yakuza features enhanced combat, larger environments and a thrilling storyline continuing a year after Yakuza ended. Yakuza 2 will plunge players deeper into the world of Japan's notorious underground organisation, where honour and respect are not earned easily.

Kazuma Kiryu, the protagonist of the first Yakuza, is named Fourth Chairman of the Tojo Clan but unexpectedly retires from life in the clan the same day. However, his personally chosen successor is assassinated by a former allied gang called the Omi. These events set in motion an engrossing storyline that sees Kazuma travelling through Japan, on what could be the last opportunity to stave off an all-out war between the Tojo and Omi clans.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

Authentic, cinematic sequel: The gritty, genuine portrayal of life in the Yakuza is made more realistic through 16 gripping chapters with a return to the original Japanese voice cast and English subtitles.

Twice as much to explore: There is now more to see and do than ever before in the hugely expanded world of the Yakuza. Players will visit bowling alleys and driving ranges, as well as cabarets and bars, all licensed from actual Japanese establishments.

A vibrant, true-to-life world: Like the real Yakuza, players must ingrain themselves in the authentic, neon-lit adult playgrounds of Tokyo and Osaka and become regulars at nightclubs, hostess clubs, restaurants and stores to gain access to secret services and uncover tips.

Brutal hand-to-hand brawling: An improved fighting engine allows players to fight numerous enemies at once with less load times and smoother camera angles. Experience Points earned from brawls will help build up strength, stamina and fighting techniques.

The raised intensity of battle: By stringing together a combination of fighting moves, players can take out multiple enemies simultaneously. Objects in the environment can be used as weapons and context-sensitive heat moves, like throwing foes down the stairs or off a balcony, will give players the upper hand in battle.

RegionPAL: Will play on UK and European Playstation2 only

Yakuza 2 continues the very complex and violent story of Kazuma Kiryu in his fight against rival gangs. As the story unfolds Kazuma must take on the police and the Korean mafia too, in which the story is beautifully woven together. There are lots of different fighting moves to learn and the special attacks are in cool slow motion. The cities look ace with there neon lights and graphics overall look very realistic for a PS2 game. There are some fun mini games to enjoy as well such as golf swing practice and bowling. Its great that Sega are still giving PS2 users such fantastic games when so many other people have jumped the boat on to next generation consoles.

GREAT GAME BETTER THAN THE FIRST

This game is brill. Story is brill everything about it except the camera angles are great. If u loved the fisrt one then you will love this. Great fighting it has been improved big time. The selling point of the game is the story. Best game story ever told after shenmue.

           A fantastic game.

Without the iffy voiceovers, this automatically betters the original by adding to the authentic Japanese feel. The fighting is as fun as ever, it never becomes a chore breaking a bicycle/cone/bat over some poor sods head. There is more to do outside of the main quest, loads of mini games that are your reward for exploring the city.
And finally the story, as mentioned, is superb. The cutscenes are a delight to watch.
          This is a fantastic game.

One of the best I have played so far!

The first Yakuza game was excellent, and this one has lots of improvements. Great storyline, more side missions available, more fighting skills, etc. Unfortunately the voice is not in English.
