The first half of Driver: Parallel Lines is set in New York City during the 1970s and centers on TK, an 18 year-old driving prodigy seeking fortune and fame. Gifted, popular and arrogant as hell, TK is one of the best drivers-for-hire in town and is known by everyone - from the pimped-out street hustlers, petty criminals, and racer boys to the shadowy crime figures that pay for his skills at the wheel.
TK gets involved with a scheming group bent on taking down one of the biggest names in the underground crime scene. With TK as the getaway driver and the crew as back up, nothing could possibly go wrong. However, in a matter of moments, TK's life dramatically changes. No longer is he a free-wheeling hotshot. Instead he has been double crossed and ultimately is imprisoned for 28 years.
Fast forward to 2006 where the action kicks back in, and TK is older, meaner, and hell bent on settling some serious scores. TK needs to call on every driving trick in his considerable repertoire to tame the over-powered road machines that 2006 presents him. After twenty-plus years in jail, it's time to hit the streets once again.

 Great Game !!

Driver has always been one of the best racing and free roaming games. Driver:Parallel Lines has now got good looking graphics. You can now earn money, to customize cars by doing side jobs apart earning money from the main story. (Much like GTA) ...

This game deserves a 5 star or more but I'm not giving a 5 star as objects which were very cool in Driver 3 where removed, i.e the boats and that you can do missions in other cities.

Can't wait for Driver 5 on the PS3 !!! Buy this game .. and you will not be dissapointed ...

 Good Game But Slightly Disapointing

I've always loved every game in the Driver series, and the Stuntman game for that matter, but after getting this game I was slightly disapointed with a few things.
The main problem for me is the stupid view you get on screen, when driving around you feel like your miles away from the vehicle that your driving. To solve this you could really do with a big windescreen TV to play the game on.
As with all other Driver games this one also has the twitchy handling problem, you can guarantee if you drive down a stretch of road at full speed you will end up crashing into something which gets annoying.
There are plenty of good features on this game though, theres plenty of cars to choose through, which you can keep in your garage and you can put body kits on them and change paintwork etc.
There is however a few things that theyv'e taken out from Driver 3 which is annoying, such as boats they are no longer available in this game, also you only get one city to drive around in whereas Driver 3 was brilliant due to 3 completely different City's that you could drive around in.
I think mainly this game isn't bad but I do prefer Driver 3.

 Good...

Great game, love the 78 to 06 time swap. Good driving pysics, exellent story and the grapics are good too. Much better than Driv3r, story and gameplay.

 Very Good

this game is really all the guns missions and cars are cool but the one thing wrong with it is the fact that you can't skip the missions and just cruise around like in driv3r
but overall good game

 Good but...

This game was hyped up so much that it was always going to disappoint. Very original with the different periods storyline, but throughout the game you cant stop thinking that it is trying (and failing) to be Grand Theft Auto, and this is where it disappoints. GTA is a million times better than it. Good value though
