I've never really been into JRPGs apart from the Pokemon games, mainly because I don't really understand the appeal. After reading a few (very positive) reviews I decided to give Persona 4 a try without knowing much about the series.

In short, Persona 4 is absolutely brilliant and may have sold me on the whole JRPG genre. It is incredibly long and great value for money.

The storyline is deep, complex and involving and you'll be surprised by how caught up you'll get in the plot and how much you'll care about the characters. Every character, even minor ones with only a few lines are well fleshed out and believable. This is easily one of the best written games on the market and is a fine example of exceptional storytelling within the video game medium.

My only real criticism is the amount of time you need to spend grinding before you tackle the bosses. RPG fans will not even consider that a criticism seeing as all RPG games require a fair few hours of levelling… more »

Persona 4 is easily one of my favourite PS2 games of all time (along with Okami, MGS3 and Shadow of the Colossus) and it is currently my favourite game of the year. Persona 4 is proof that there is still life in the PS2. It is deep, funny, emotionally engaging, fun and above all: absolutely essential.

I've bought this title just before the release of Killzone 2.. And well it says enough that killzone 2 only lasted for the singleplayer playthrough and a little bit of multiplayer. After that I went right back to Persona 4,

I've you've played Persona 3, you'll know what to expect. Most about Persona 4 is said by the other reviewers.. But the one thing that puts Persona 4 far beyond Persona 3 is the way they get you involved in the story. In this game your interaction with the main cast is greatly improved and where Persona 3 sometimes could become a bit dull, due to the lack of interaction with the main cast, Persona 4 delivers. If not for the lack of words to describe it, it say Persona 4 has become a lot more busy then its predecessor. If you're into Rpg's and anime, you'll love this game. For me this will be probably be my personal best for 2009 and I believe that a lot of people who also played this game will agree.
