Since its arrival on PS2 mortal kombat has come back in a blaze of glory and this is the best game in the series. Why, because they've put all characters in the game, even a few I never heard of and I played a lot of versions of this series (oh, and chameleon was in this version of the PS2 I got from play.com so I don't know why its not in the previous reviewers game).
The fight system is superb and this time they've limited the styles per character to 2 which means there's less combos to try and remember thankfully. The new fatality system is really good as you perform the moves for it based on button and controller movements but this is the same for every character (unfortunately there's no more brilliant individual fatalities anymore). Then there's the konquest mode which is the best one yet which follows the story of the 2 new characters and this is the best version of konquest yet. The create a fighter option is brilliant where you can unlock loads of clothes and moves through the coins you earn. Oh, and they've added a karting sub-game which is not brilliant but will add to the experience.
The only downsides to this game are the removal of individual fatalities and the poor end scenes as it's just a guy speaking the ending of each character which is a disappointment (especially when you think of the pointless stuff like team photos they put in the extras, decent endings would have been better). But ignore these and this game is class effort.
this is just such a good game i have for both PS2 and wii, the storys great as all mortal kombat games are and the 2 main things that really spice this game up is how..
1. you can create a kustom fighter AND THEN go on Netplay to fight against other online players and there Kustom fighters (only for PS2 though [Netplay])
3/ YOU CAN BE ANYONE ON IT !!!! from scorpian to sub-z, baraka to lui-kang. its great on arcade mode !!
a MUST MUST MUST Kombat buy, and unfortunately i think its the last Kombat game, all though i think theres a kombat: classics to be released with all the original 2D games on.
This game tottaly rocks. If you love Mortal Kombat, or just fighting games in genael, then you have to, have to, HAVE TO get this game, it is without question the best Mortal Kombat so ever. I rembemer my friends first reaction to it when he first got it. He was just staring at the screen in total shock. And that was just after the intro to the game.
The Kreate A Fighter Mode is pretty cool, Konquest mode has gotten much better since Deception, all round, I'd say that this was the pefrect Motal Kombat Game.
This is amazing, finally a create a character and all characters...all eccept khameleon(wii only),no face, ect and the create a fatality sucks!! what happened to classic fatalities??
good but not great....
im a big fan of mortal kombat so when i bought this game i automatically loved it. Its good that you can go any player in the whole of mortal kombat but konquest isn't all that good, but 5 star for the create a player and huge number of characters.
