can anyone tell me whether you have to go thorugh teirs like in guitar hero or, can you just choose the songs to sing as you please?

Singstar are great games at partys and when you've got mates around but on a single player its not quite as good as guitar hero(s). But when there are other players it suddenly becomes fun and actually impressed me,even though i cant sing.This is good if you have spare time and a few mates 8/10
