Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe and a reinterpretation of the events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The setting of the Resident Evil universe not only provides a rich backdrop to the action but delivers a unique and thrilling triple threat battle. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W's) add to the mix as players not only compete against an opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters.

It is September 1998 and the action centres once more on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak from the Umbrella facility. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors. Hearing of this plan, the US Government dispatches its own special forces to uncover any evidence that exposes the cause of the viral infection and Umbrella's actions. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in four player co-op in a battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.

Expect the return of original Resident Evil enemies, iconic landmarks such as the Raccoon City Police Department and fan favourite characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, who as a rookie police officer in Raccoon City is on your hit list to eliminate. Players will experience a retelling of classic moments from past titles Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 and watch the events unfolding from the menacing perspective of the Umbrella Security Service, giving fans the chance to rewrite the history of the Raccoon City outbreak.

In addition, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will deliver a number of competitive online multiplayer modes. Each one of these will provide a unique gaming experience thanks to the three way combat between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops and threat of zombies and B.O.W's that could only exist in the deadly and twisted Resident Evil Universe.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

  • Team based shooter set in the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe
  • Triple threat battle as zombies and B.O.W.s add to the action
  • Compete with up to three friends as an Umbrella Security Service squad member in campaign mode
  • Choose from six U.S.S. characters, each with their own unique skill set and roles
  • Return of favourite Resident Evil enemies, iconic landmarks and characters, such as Leon S. Kennedy
  • Rewrite the history of the Raccoon City outbreak. Relive the iconic crash scene from Resident Evil 2 as Leon S. Kennedy desperately tries to escape from the clutches of the Umbrella Security Services
  • Risk infection from the hordes of zombies making their way through the city
  • Competitive online multiplayer modes provide a unique gaming experience thanks to the three corner combat between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops and threat of zombies and B.O.W.s

The graphics in this game are next to none, the caracters are amazing and your introduced to the original villains straight away when I got this game I thought it was going to be good but not as good as the series of games I was worried that it would be like 'code veronica' but so far it has not disappointed me, I hope when I finish the game I won't have to take back what I have said. I would recomend this game to anyone p.s the game has an age rating of 15 not 18

 Not quite a classic

First off I'm a massive Resident Evil fan and have been since the original release in the mid 90's.

There are lots of things wrong with this game, the AI is shockingly bad in the single player missions and the game is very short. ,some of the controls are a bit poor, most noticably no quick turn around.

But, with all that said I've became quite addicted to the online modes. Obviously we'll need to wait till Resident Evil 6 to get a better quality game with a Mercenaries mode but ORC is still a pretty good game, if you can forgive its faults.

Mediocre game. Capcom can do better than this.

First let me tell you what is missing from this game.

Mercenary mode, 180 turn around button ( It annoying that you can't really turn around fast ), weapon customisation ( its VERY dark game that you're not allowed to add a simple FLASH LIGHT to your gun ) not a lot of hand guns, weapons really feels bad ( recoil and aiming ), you will usually see people playing with Advance SMG or Hammer sometimes Juggernaut ( USAS shotgun ) because they are the most effective in a game. This game lags and glitches really badly sometimes you are well away from another player only to be grabbed and killed seconds later... It seems players "see" differently. Campaign 7 missions... 3-4 h of gameplay. Even on Veteran there are missions you can just Rush in.

Another thing missing Puzzles and Interesting Boss Fights. Seriously it comes down to one thing : Shoot it. And there is way too much ammo. You will never need ammo. Boxes are to be found everywhere lol... Npc acts really dumb and don't expect much help from them. You can't really interact with environment ( pull levers so your teammate can cross over bridge ) This game is missing SO MUCH. Its not even scary. Multiplayer is just one big frustration if you can't get Assault class or Medic class then you will die a lot. Hero mode is just like Team deathmatch but characters are Beefed up... ( really hard to kill 2-3 clips or 20 knifes... lol ).

In theory it was a good idea but in the end its not worth it. Wait for the price to drop.

Now the good points, Veteran difficulty offers friendly fire lol... Classes are balanced ( except fro Spectre that doesn't do anything in campaign mode ) but multiplayer is unbalanced as hell... It's somehow fun to play even though there is so many flaws and fail ideas... don't know how to put it... but it's just fun to play 4 player co-op seeing them getting infected but then... you start to shoot sniper rife and you realize that it takes 2-3 headshots to kill military guys... sniper rifles are seriously under powered... Switching to side arm is just frustrating and boss fights are boring. It would be more fun if there were some tactics but no... just shoot it where it hurts. Thats it.

Resident Evil ORC is a hollow child from a Capcom ( shame on you ) family. It frustrate you and at the same time give you some fun. Its not worth 30-40 pounds for a glitched game and campaign that is way too short.... even some indie games offers longer campaigns LOL. Fin ~~

This game is absolutely immense, you would be stupid NOT to buy it! I don't understand why people are giving it such bad reviews about it not being like the other Resident Evil games; it isn't supposed to be like the other Resident Evil games! The whole reason of CAPCOM bringing out Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is so that it's different and unique from the other games. Also, it is a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead which the PS3 has been needing ever since the first L4D game was released. This game is seriously the best Resident Evil game they have released yet, and I cannot wait to see what CAPCOM has up their sleeves for Resident Evil 6!
