I owned both Lego star wars 1 and 2 on the PS2 I played and completed both with a friend and enjoyed every minute of it. So why buy this version?
Well for a starters it's cheaper than buying the 2 separate (new that is) the graphics are smoother, levels have been re worked, new characters, and some extra content has been added.
So let's get one thing straight you are defiantly getting value for money here, 6 episodes, 6 levels each roughly 15minutes per level (not including having to play through them again to unlock bonuses) (oh and the time trials) (Double oh and all the extras)= one hell of a long, fun and funny game.
The game is a very basic platform game, jump there, destroy there, use the force here, but it's the little quirks that make it fun ... like starting showers to make flowers grow then destroying them to revel pieces of a car that can be put together, or using the force to set up a disco so storm troopers can party on down. It's these little puns that make the game unique. And there are a lot of them.
Each character in the game has the own unique moves and purpose, Droids, bounty hunters, storm troopers each activate their own control panels (some can fly) other characters can jump higher than others, some can sneak past all kinds of enemy fire, some can throw grenades and the Jedi's can use the force. You can also use any character within the game to play through any level once complete to help unlock all those extras.
Like I said earlier some levels have been redesigned but if you prefer the original levels don't worry. The levels that have been changed, the original versions of those levels can be unlocked and are playable. But trust me after playing the new versions on the complete saga you will wonder how the hell you managed to get through them in the original games.
Another add on to the game is episodes 1 to 3 now have all the bonuses the original trilogy was given, such as bounty missions etc and there has been another Lego world added to play through.
I can't really see many if any major faults in this game there is loads for you to work trough, you can play as all most every character in the star wars universe and use practically every vehicle. To complete the game 100% you do have to play through more than once and will make the game seem a bit repetitive however this can unlock new areas within levels and bring new challenges to light. This game is value fro money and deserves the 5 stars I'm giving it.
