Not good, not good at all

I look down the list of reviews and see alot of positive comments, but what Im hearing in the real world is very different, I think I only know of 1 person who is satisfied with this game, and thats satisfied, not overly happy, just satisfied

The single player campaign is far too short, it left me wanting much much more, but not in a good way, just as I started to get into the story, it was over, never will I consider a game to be good when I can complete it in less than a day

So, feeling let down by the campaign, I headed over to the spec ops where me and my son had a pretty good time for a couple of hours, but then once again was bored, the spec op missions are good but not worth the 32 pounds I paid for it at midnight on release day

So, giving it one final chance, it was time to hit the online multiplayer.........or rather I was the one who got hit, by a multitude of campers desperate to get their killstreaks and challenges completed, and it never ends either, there is a whole heap of extras thrown in to the multi player which normally I would consider a good thing but, not with this, there is far too much and it is only encouraging people to camp all the more just for the MOAB title

all in all a big steaming pile of disapointment which deserves no more than a single star

MAIN GAME WAY TO SHORT AGAIN!!!!

As per usual the game looks and sounds great, but.......

The very big but is its way to short (10hours main game play, under a day to finish!), its been hyped up so much and had a higher than normal price slapped on the game that it's defo not worth!
If a game is made to be an online multi player why not let every one know that in the first place? That way every one would not be dissapointed with how short the game is and they could then buy them for the PC as its a much better platform to play them on.
Consoles are still along way behind in this department, with the amount of players, size of maps and the servers which forever seem to have problems!
The vehicles are ok but you only get about a minute or so in each and cant do much at all with them!
The Special ops part is not bad to but theres only so many times you can play the same small game before getting bored.
All in all its not a bad game with some good parts, but id wait and get it in afew months and save yourself afew quid when the price drops and they have fixed all the bugs.
Keep playing COD4 or even better if you have a PC get BATTLEFIELD 2 if your after a multi player which is alot cheaper and alot better for online play!

Good game but...........it it really outstanding?

Okay I have only given 3 stars but here is why.

As a stand alone FPS it is good but I do not think this is as outstanding as many here are saying. What makes it is the multiplayer and the Special Ops modes.

The single player is short and there is no flow to the story just each level throws you into a random battle.

My rating is taking into account COD series and this one is not that much of an improvement over the previous. It certainly is not a game that breaks new ground like KZ2 did when released or UC2 did more recently.

It is also dissapointing that this was released with so many problems on PS3 - most of which should have been seen by good testing.

 Bit of a disappointment

Firstly I am a huge MW fan and have struggled through MW2 on veteran as well as lost hours of my life online. To make it clear i'm NOT a noob!!! Although magazines love this game I certainly have some doubts, even after playing for so long.
The campaign is WAY to short but some of the twists and turns are quality (no spoilers don't worry). Multi-player however, which I imagine is why most people will by this is where it becomes a real mixed bag. Being able to control ur killstreaks now is brilliant but the deathstreaks to "balance" it up r just shocking poor in comparison, snipers still stick out like a sore thumb and IW servers need some serious updating. I would think I've lost server connection about 25% of all matches and lagged for a good 50%, theres only 16 people playing for gods sake!!! Compare this with MAG and it's 256 player mayhem and ZERO lag and u gotta wonder about IW. There really is no excuse but I digress lol.
On the whole if you're new to COD then you'll prob love this and think I've gone barmy but any experienced players or general FPS fans you love it then loathe it in time, it is a very mixed bag. Oh and someone do something about all the little kiddies talking about their school dinners too lol its an 18 for a reason mum's and dads!!!

I don't get what the fuss is about.

What's so great about this game?

It's a reasonable, if quite far fetched (nothing wrong with that), story.

But the gameplay is so derivative. Seen this a thousand times before but done with far greater panache.
Multiplayer is little different from the plethora of titles previously released and lags someway behind the seminal Counter Strike.

It's like gaming by numbers and not my thing. It's also really really short. I just don't get what the fuss is about.
