Transformers: The Game lets gamers control the outcome in the battle for Earth as they choose to protect it as Autobots or destroy it as Decepticons. Players will also experience the unstoppable power and massive scale of their favourite robots in disguise such as Bumblebee, Barricade and others.

Protect Or Destroy The Earth: As the Transformers' war comes to Earth, gamers make the choice to join the Autobots in protecting our planet or to join the Decepticons in destroying it. With dual campaigns, the fate of the world is in players' hands.

Robots in Disguise: Instantly transform from a larger than life robot to a high-powered vehicle such as a sports car, fighter jet or helicopter. Seamless transformations leave enemies in the dust or enhance player's combat strategy by giving the player a range of options in both vehicle and robot mode that take full advantage of a transformers dual forms.

The World Is Your Playground: Players crush, topple and wreck every object, including buildings and vehicles, in their path or use the objects as weapons. It is up to the gamer to decide how best to use their surrounding environment.

Freedom of Choice: An unprecedented line-up lets gamers experience the massive scale, unique abilities and sheer strength of an army of characters from the Transformers' universe when they choose to play as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ironhide, Starscream, Bumblebee and more.

Variety of Combat: For head-to-head battles, fans engage in melee combat that reflects each Transformer's true character, scale, weight and power along with melee weapons and special moves unique to each character. The game's ranged combat offers a wide array of projective weapons designed to take out enemies from afar.

Who wouldn't want to turn into robot?!?!?

Have just started playing this game today and first impressions are very good. Graphics are good, sound is good with Optimus Prime having the original voice actor still declaring "Autobots - Transform and Roll out". Awesome. I would have given five stars if not for the fact that the controls can sometimes get confusing when under pressure, but that may just be me being stupid.
If you are a Transformers fan, you will love it. If you are not a fan, who wouldn't want to turn into a robot and bash buses with lamp posts?!

Shame it had so much potential

Top 100  Reviewer Top 10 Games Reviewer

I've played Transformers Armada and Transformers Tataki (imported) for the PS2 and enjoyed both so was really looking forward to the Transformers coming to next gen consoles. Unfortunately my expectations where shattered.

The game does has its good points like being able to play as either side from the beginning is great although playing as the decepticons is much easier and fun. The graphics in the game are great as well and the Transformers themselves look amazing. Another little added plus is the use of the six axis controller functions (optional) which you can use while playing as the decepticons to fly around as jet of helicopter etc.

When you're in vehicle mode you can have a lot of fun driving round the streets or flying in the air blowing stuff up and while in vehicle mode you can get around quite easy and your character isn't hard to control. However when you're in robot mode this changes. While in robot mode your movement is so slow and clumsy which can be really irritating especially in fights.

Another disappointing thing is the environments your in are far too small you notice this more being flying around as the decepticons, you just seem to be getting some where the your forced back the other way you haven't got much freedom as you'd like even in the big city.

The major problem with the game though is how long it will take you to complete. If you don't bother with all the mini games, which in themselves are pointless and irritating, you are seriously looking at a couple of hour's game play its over far too quickly.

When first seeing this game it bared resemblance of HULK ultimate destruction for the PS2. If only Transformers was half as good.

If you're like me and a big Transformers fan and must buy the game then try to get it as cheap as possible. Although the game does has its fun moments it just doesn't have enough of them.

A big disappointment for all transformers fans

Having played the game for a few days now I must say the game as a whole is a let down. Very linear, speed issues (unbelievable) when the screen gets busy and some of the autobots are very slow to respond. I was expecting something a little more open, the missions are all very short (5 mins) and many are time constrained which makes it difficult to explore the surroundings.

Enemies are either ridiculously easy or incredibly hard to beat and it is not overly easy to pick up objects in the middle of the battle.

In car mode, the cars are difficult to control at high speeds and the map is too limited, it does not allow you to make a proper plan of how to get from A to B.

Having played games such as GTA and the Godfather on the PS3 these games have far more scope and longevity.

        A huge fan, hugely disappointed.

after the bad ratings in ps3 mags i thought this game was lost in ps2 land but after playing it i was surprised how good it was.
graphic are the best but better than pic you see.
how you can just change by a click of a button is just great.

A pretty transformation does not a good game make

Got this as I loved the film, looks great for the first few minutes then you realise that it is the same all the way through, drive a bit (poorly) punch or throw something and drive some more. It really is the most repetitive game I have ever played and is far too hard for younger gamers to play, you cant walk past a building without it crumbling. Even if you are a massive fan of transformers... When you compare the amount of contentin this to a title like Drakes Fortune or Assassins Creed you realise just how bad this really is.. please avoid this and get lego star wars instead, its soooo much better.
