In collaboration with urban lifestyle powerhouse Def Jam Interactive, EA Chicago - the team behind the critically acclaimed EA Sports Fight Night series - is integrating hip hop culture and gaming like never before.

With the hottest music seamlessly infused into the world around you, the game's environments pulsate, crumble, and explode to life with every bone-jarring beat. Time your attacks to the driving bass and use falling debris and exposed environmental hazards to pound your rivals. Featuring an all-new single-player story, the game takes you deep into the life of a high-rolling hip hop mogul to build a record label, discover new superstars, and become a hip hop Icon.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

Musically Charged Combat: Beats trigger interactive hazards around you as your environment comes alive and reacts to the music. From exploding gas pumps to spinning helicopter propellers, taking advantage of your surroundings is just as important as your toe-to-toe fighting skills. Become one with the beats to rule the streets.

DJ Controls: Use the analog sticks like turntables to add beats, switch songs, and make music your weapon. Throw down blistering attacks and brutal combos with the next-gestural street fighting system.

Fight to Your Own Beat: Battle to your own music or against the music of a friend. Upload any song to create an endless soundtrack that animates the environment and drives the core fighting mechanics. Prove once and for all who's music's king in the first authentic video rap battle.

Become a Hip Hop Icon: From the writers of 24 and Training Day, build an empire and live the life of a music mogul by signing artists, managing their careers, and releasing their hit songs. Do whatever it takes to become an Icon in the world of hip hop. But beware-you never know who is watching you.

Hip Hop's Best: Fight with or against the biggest stars in hip hop. Artists like Ludacris, T.I., Paul Wall, The Game, Big Boi, and more are all instrumental in your building a record label and becoming a hip hop Icon.

this game is awfull, rubbish compared to fight for NY

the old def jam was a real entertaining game just kicking the hell out of the likes of fat joe and snoop dog but this one is utterly rubbish, you have to fight in scenary which is always for some reason blowing up you can get blasted by speakers and wheel spinned on by a car during a fight and that is just annoying, also the block is impossible to do efficiently and its so annoying and complicating and theres so many button combinations to do different actions compared to the old game. it is just not a game that you can play with mates for a few minutes here and there, it will take hours to get used to it and even then it is not a good nor enjoyable game with rubbish extras like 'becoming a music producer'.

This is a big disapointment Fight for NY was brilliant but thanks to the stupid music system thing this is rubbish. It is very hard to play and when you finally start to win stuff blows up or falls on your head taking off huge chunks of health. The only good point about this game is the graphics are very good. The character customizing is bad also it is almost impossible to make him look any different.

           Stay away!!!!

Ok the graphic is ok! that why I gave it a 2/5.......but thats about it with this game. I suppose since there isn't that many fighting games around, one can easily fall into a trap of buying this junk of a game.... I say don't bother wait till Soul Calibre comes out this summer or when the Street fighters and the mortal Kombat series comes out whenever.... My only consolation is this came free with my PS3... can't imagine if I paid good money for this!!!

           Dont bother wasting your money.

It looks like everyones said what I'm about to. Graphics are good, looks great in HD but it is so crap. If you're after a Def Jam game, get Fight For New York!
