Brought to you by the makers of Guitar Hero, one of the best-selling videogame franchises of all-time, Band Hero features the hottest chart-topping hits from everyone's favourite acts including Maroon 5, Fall Out Boy, Go-Go's, Janet Jackson, Culture Club and Snow Patrol.

Headlined by some of the biggest names in music as in-game artists and playable characters, Band Hero is the ultimate party game where players of all ages will be able to experience the signature, easy-to-learn but difficult-to-master Guitar Hero gameplay.

Elevated social gameplay in Band Hero allows fans to create the band they always dreamed of using any combination of guitar or drum controllers and vocals, providing rockers and performers of all ages the chance to experience and interact with their favourite music.

  • Click here for Band Hero tracklist (requires Adobe Reader)
  • Rock to the beat: Band Hero includes the most fun music that brings friends and family of all ages together to sing, play guitar, or drum to a wide variety of today's chart topping hits and most recognisable anthems. The game features an explosive on-disc set list of more than 65 tracks from the hottest new bands and classic artists, including Maroon 5, Jesse McCartney, Go-Go's, The Turtles and Janet Jackson.
  • Let's get this party started! Novice and expert players alike will find it easier than ever to jump in and jam out with friends and family thanks to Band Hero's Party Play Mode. Party Play inserts players straight into the action from the start-up menu with the press of a button allowing them to join in, drop out, or switch personal options at any time without fear of failing the song or interrupting the jam session.
  • Put the band together Your Way: In Band Hero gamers are free to create the experience they want by tailoring their band to suit their style. People can play alone or select any combination of multiple vocalists, bassists, drummers or guitarists to create their own band and rock with, in Band Hero.
  • Step up to the challenge: A little competition never hurt anyone! Band Hero's RockFest Mode is a collection of challenges at varying difficulties designed for up to four players locally and up to eight players online.
  • Live in the moment: Capturing the essence of being in a big-named band and nailing those memorable sections of popular songs is what Band Hero's Band Moments is all about. Hitting all the notes in a special section earns bands bonus multipliers and creates the ultimate sense of accomplishment as the crowd screams for more.
  • The ultimate jukebox: Further expanding upon the hours of nonstop on-disc entertainment in Band Hero, is the ability for fans to play Guitar Hero: World Tour's downloadable content in the game, utilising all of the upgrades and features in Band Hero
  • Sing any way you want: A classic karaoke mode where up to four players can showcase their vocal chops, Sing-Along allows players to perform any song from the entire setlist, without worrying about scores or failing out

Band Hero? - How Many More

I brought this game a few days ago, i already have a few Guitar Hero games and think that this one is OK! Its nothing special and would not recommend you buying it unless you dont already have any of Guitar Hero's previous releases. Its got some good songs on it, and its cheaper than buying off of GHTunes but I think Guitar Hero are now just trying to sqeeze us of every last penny we have...
Bit of a mid one here folks...
Thanks for reading... Adam Greensmith

 Wider audience appeal....poor online play

This game is a good extension to the guitar hero games, as it has a much wider range of songs, including current and past 'pop' songs, which make it more of a family and party game.

The only criticism of this game is that you need to participate in online games to gain all of the trophies on ps3, yet there is no-one online, which can be frustrating when you are close to platinum! For the sale price of 7.99 however this is a minor issue, especially considering the price of other ps3 games....a fun way to pass time.

 wider appeal

Band Hero seems to be aimed at more of the family than guitar hero with a wider range of songs on the disk. Guitar Hero and World Tour tend towards the rock / metal genre and may not be everyones cup of tea, so Band Hero has more maintstream pop songs ranging from the (drippy) Taylor Swift - Love song, through Naive - The Kooks, ABC - The Jacksons - etc.
One of the more interesting features is the party play option which - when running has the console picking a song at random, and, if you like the sound of it, you can grab an instrument or the mic and join in at anytime. (and drop out again too).

Like the Guitar Hero / WTand Rock Band games its very good, following the same format witha wider appeal. My only criticisms are that the calibration system for video and audio lag (for plasma, LCD and CRT TVs) is difficult ro work out compared to Rock Band and Guitar Hero WT. Also if using a four pad drum kit controller (Rock Band) as opposed to the 5 pad GHWT controller - Some of the tracks are also difficult to play right handed drums as it means having to cross your hands to hit the snare on the fast disco beats. It is of course easier if you flip the game settings to left handed and then play as normal (I am right handed). But you cannot change to left handed or back to right once into song selection.
With the 5 pad (World Tour / Band Hero) controller, this shouldnt be as much of a problem as it has two cymbal pads set higher than the 3 drum pads. (check out the drum controller photos on this site if you aren't sure what they look like)
