Beautiful, compelling and unforgiving, Demon's Souls is the hardcore RPG experience PlayStation 3 owners have been waiting for since the platform's launch.

Envelop yourself in the Kingdom of Boletaria, a dark land devastated by the cruel fog that brings demons to feast on mortal souls. Vanquish monstrous demons in unforgiving combat and collect their souls to grow your own power. Progress through a non-linear world exploring ancient castles, deep caves and dark tunnels littered with deadly traps.
To succeed you will need to adapt your character, your equipment and your tactics to every unpredictable situation.

Revolutionary online features will support your adventure like never before, presenting seamless interconnectivity that serves in every instance to enhance the single-player game. Team up with other players in simultaneous cooperative play, working together to topple some of the game's colossal bosses, or force your way into the games of skilled players and challenge them to PvP battle.

Leave hints and clues for those who will follow in your footsteps. Your bloodstains, left either intentionally or through your own inadvertent demise, will allow your successors to view a replay of your death, helping them to avoid your gruesome fate. Unprecedented in its depth and subtlety, peerless in its relentlessly challenging gameplay, Demon's Souls is the ultimate action RPG.

King Allant the XII, the last king of Boletaria, searched tirelessly to expand his might. The Nexus, a great ice shrine nestled in the mountains, bestowed the power of the souls onto him, bringing prosperity to his kingdom. Still unsated, he returned again to the Nexus, where he foolishly awakened the Old One from its eternal slumber. This long forgotten evil, now wrought upon Boletaria, plunged the realm into darkness and fog. A mighty demon horde poured into the kingdom, devouring the souls of men.

Champions from other realms learned of Boletaria's fate and sought to deliver the kingdom from evil; none would return from the cursed land. Called upon by a mysterious maiden in black, you go forth, the last hope for humanity in a place lost to demons and darkness.
  • Unforgiving combat: Demon's Souls is one of the most ruthless and cruel action RPG experiences. Adapt your character and your gameplay to defeat powerful bosses and a host of merciless enemies.
  • Original online multiplayer mode: Leave messages for others with hints on how to avoid or defeat the enemies ahead. Replay the last moments of dead players' lives to see how they died and avoid a similar fate. Team up with others in soul form to defeat bosses, or invade the world of another player as Black Phantom and attempt to kill the host.
  • Unique alignment system: Choose your path through the mire of black and white tendencies to unlock secret events and items. You tendency will affect your own stats as well as those of your enemies.
  • Potent atmosphere: Plunge into the ominous atmosphere of a dark, medieval fantasy world. The beautiful contrast between light and shadow and the fantastic design and animation of the creatures are underscored by an immersive soundtrack.

 Difficult, but well worth it

This game has been cited as one of the hardest games on the PS3 and that is absolutely true. Even the first level I found myself constantly dying and getting frustrated. Once the first boss has been whooped the game opens up to you and you can upgrade your character. Finishing each level is very rewarding

Graphics are awesome, scenery is bleak in places but appropriate.

It is definitely NOT a game where you can just pick it up and play it - each level requires at least 30-45 minutes to finish and there are no save points in levels which means dying takes you right to the start.

This game has infinite re-playability because every class (chosen at the start e.g. warrior, ranger, knight) is different. As well as new game + (and up to new game +++++++++ apparently).

My favorite PS3 game - why haven't you bought it already?

Finally a Challenge and a brilliant game too!

One thing I love about the PS3 is the exclusives and this game is perhaps one game I've enjoyed the most in recent years. It's brilliant and combines elements of different games to create an amazing play experience.

It has the action of a hack and slash game, the growth of an rpg and the atmosphere of a Horror game and since the game is really cruel the Horror becomes very apparent.

The control system is great, it takes some getting used to but it offers structure and skill to combat with details like using long weapons in corridors and the attacks being affected by the walls around you, forcing you to use thrust attacks etc.

The online play feels so fresh with your actions impacting on your own alignment. Choose to help players as a blue phantom to go towards the light or invade and murder another living player for darkness. You also get more loot/rewards for being evil but it also makes the game harder as a penalty. Good guys will progress seemingly slower and have a bit more of an easier ride...though not that much easier XD.

It's not very often these days that you get games that are genuinely hard, this game doesnt let you pause or save mid-way through the HUGE levels. You will die a lot, but doing so brings you back in spirit form where you are weaker and have to do a number of things to regain your body. I noted most of them above as the good and evil, you also can regain your body obtaining a demon soul from one of the nasty bosses who are often huge.

Truly a masterpiece of a game and I'm so glad I have a ps3 to enjoy it, people bleat about how awesome COD is and such is when games like this get pushed to the back, a crime I tell ya,

One of the best games this generation

Without a doubt the best action RPG on the PS3, if you missed out on the Black phantom edition then get this and experience Demon's Souls, this game is Extremely hard but very very rewarding, It's very long as well (around 20-25 hours) so you will get a LOT of game for your money, forget short 6 hour long forgettable FPS campaigns, forget games that hold your hand. Demon's Souls is not just a game - It's an Experience.

If you have a PS3 then this game is a Definite must have

 just dont buy
