Vault 101 - Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

 free postage?,

You get exactly what you pay for with the free postage from play.com - a game in a tin mailed out in a flimsy plastic bag. Expect the lunchbox to be dented to high hell by the time royal mail is done with it.

The game itself is absolutely incredible and really is as good (if not better) than everyone is claiming. Unfortunately, this game is plagued with bugs. Some of them are very minor, others are infuriating. The ps3 version especially suffers. All i can advise is to save save and save or you could loose your entire game for the sake of one stupid mistake/bug. Here's hoping for a patch to fix them all (take the bugs away and you really are left with one of the best games made in the last decade)

I bought this from play a little while ago when they were doing a special deal for 2 days where it was £25 so i am really pleased! I already had the fallout 3 game but i was craving the collectors edition so when i see it for £25 i had to get it, i have sold the game that comes with the collectors edition for £26 so i have got the bobblehead, the making of dvd, the concept art book and the lunch box for nothing! Thanks play, you're the boss! Oh yeah, this game is amazing, the best i have ever played, i have been playing it about 2 or 3 days every week for about 6 hours a time since it was released and i'm still not bored! Word of advice though, don't do the main quest "purifier" until you have done everything else that you can do in the game!

It's an incredibly huge game, and it's awesome, too.

This game has bugs. Luckily they squished the worst ones with patches, but every now and then something might go awry.
That said, i love this game! Brilliantly set in a post nuclear war in the future as from the 50's, you roam the wastelands, kill things (and people) and try to survive. It's not easy, you might stumble into big trouble, be it somebody that wants you dead or simply some huge animal that isn't friendly at all. Everything in the game looks awesome, from the weapons to the people and everything in between. Main mission is the "usual" find the disappeared person thing, and while it's not too long nor especially interesting... side missions are incredible. Tons of them, hidden everywhere! One of my favorite ones is to help somebody to make a wasteland survival guide: it's mostly getting hurt to test new way to patch you up and testing things. Very funny.
You can customize your character pretty deeply, if you want to. There is a karma meter in the game, and you will fill it one way or another while taking decisions. Be evil, and you won't have access to perks that are for good people, and vice versa. Moreover people will remember you, one way or another. Just don't expect to be welcome in any place where you killed and robbed.
Gameplay wise, it's pretty much a first person shooter with rpg features, however you don't need to shoot in first person, you can enable V.A.T.S. that will allow you to aim at a certain spot of an enemy, and then the character will act by itself. Results will vary depending on your skill. I love this mode.
It's dubbed awesomely, and sounds are very well done. Also "there is no music". Given the kind of game it would've ruined the experience... however you do have a radio with you, hat can be tuned on the few radio stations that are available. But it's an analog transmission and you might even get out of range and lose it! Obviously it's all old songs.
The collector's edition comes in a nice lunch box package, just like the ones you might find scattered during the game, and it's metallic. Very cool. Inside, there is a bobble-head doll... like the ones you will find in the game, again very cool. Other goodies include an art book with plenty of beautiful artworks and a bluray with the making of the game. Everything is cool and awesome.
A thing i didn't like is the level cap at 20 levels, that being used to grinding roughly to 90 levels was quite a let down, but luckily it's not too much of an issue.

One of the BEST GAMES i have ever played

This game is Amazing. There is so much too do, I have played this game solid for 4 months and I have still only done 65% of the trophies. There are so many hidden things in the games as well like a crash landed alien craft with a gun that kills most things with 1 shot (but has limited ammo) or secret stashes in rocks that can only be found at night when the moon shine on them. That's not just it you can choose your skills as you level up, create weapons repair armour, repair weapons, become a contact killer all sorts the game has such endless possibilities and the DLC is going to make the game even better. This edition is a nicely presented collector's edition with a few quirky bits. If your a sucker for a collectors edition like me it's a must have, it looks brilliant and the art book has some fantastic work in it.

Fallout 3 is brillant, to say it's better than Oblivion is hard, so lets not talk about that, I got the Collector's Edition on christmas morning, and as I was tired, i just stuck on the DVD, that came with it, 1 hour long, brillant! like watching PlayR for an hour only about Fallout and Oblivion, the bobble head rocks, its worth the money!
