Is it only us at TreeStumpReviews that think that prehaps this isnt a second game, but more of a four hour expansion for the original, with a few new vehicles and an onslaught of repetitive missions.
The voice casting was great as well as some spectacular graphics but this still didnt feel like it was anything new, we can understand that others would enjoy the same of the first game, as at least the story continues in a straight line but wouldnt it of been better just to call this Just Cause expansion, instead of leading us all on to believe that something had been changed when all it really was, was the same disk of JC1 with a different sticker!

Just Cause 2 is a great improvement on the previous title & I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially for the price is selling it right now.
Causing Chaos the main objective of the game; blowing everything up is very fun! Helicopters are the boy! The graphics are superb (best water graphics of any game I've ever seen) & the upgrade system - whereby you can upgrade guns & vehicles is very addictive. The grappling hook adds a unique trait to the traditional shoot em up genre & is very fun! The story is pretty weak but the game is not linear & there is SO much to do to obtain the mighty 100%. Once you complete the main story, you'll only have completed about 25%-30%. The trophies are fairly easy if you're willing to put the time in.
The only negative is that the game gets slightly repetitive after you complete the faction missions & main story missions (not as bad as Just Cause 1 due to the added collectors trophies etc).
In conclusion, great game for the price; get involved!
When buying Just Cause 2 I was told it was one of the best Action/Adventure/RPG's going. So as many people would be I couldn't wait to try it out. At first, I loved it. The graphics are great, the content and variety is good and the freedom and choice was very well portrayed. However, after a while it does begin to get too repetitive, like you know too much what to do and I seriously hate the stupid auto-save system!! I do, on the other hand like the way it does take time to get to several locations without the aid of the 'Black Market Dealer' from whom you can buy several vehicles and weapons. The story was good and I enjoyed the ending. But, this game would be interesting to see if it had a Multiplayer mode. Occasionally on video games like this that have extremely long campaigns I like to have a couple of games online before continuing on with the story. I think that may be the main reason I found this game too repetitive because to get a break from the story, well you had to completely leave the game.
Graphics 4/5
Content 5/5
Variety 5/5
Story 4/5
Multiplayer N/A
Total 3/5
Good but could be improved.
What Can I say! Despite the dreadful accents and occasional case of puppet mouth with characters this game delivers on pretty much every level.
Firstly Im going to say how this game has really opened my eyes to the scale that games are actually able to achieve in this generation of consoles! I often found myself spending 20 odd minutes actually transporting myself from mission to mission.
Secondly, the graphics are truly awe inspiring they may not meet up to such standards set by GTA IV. Despite this there are still moments in the game where you actually feel the need to stop and just take in the view.
And lastly the gameplay value is truly endless. Ive been playing on the game now for 18 hours and Ive just finished the main story line. And what waits for me? An expansive land with hundreds of racing activates, Easter eggs as wacky as finding the lost island from the TV series, 100s of settlements, Military bases and oil refinements followed by the not so exciting.. collecting of Skulls, Black boxes and drug cases for the 3 factions you work for.
This is truly one of those games where the more you play, the more you start to appreciate it. A must buy for open world game lovers.
This game didn't really do much for me.
Nothing much about it seemed entertaining or fun to me, but I'm not a massive fan of free play games.
Poor storyline. The only thing which made up for it was being able to fly an aeroplane, and the graphics.
Having limited myself to sport games over the years I decided with the PS3 to branch out a little and explore the possibilities, and Just Cause 2 was not a disappointment.
The game is vast, perhaps more so than any other I've played to date although this can make the game somewhat repetitive. Time really can go nowhere when playing this game and you can get lost for a while. There are lots of little sub-plots to the main story (which is a little bit of a let down), you can collect items thus "completing" settlements or take on a mission from one of the gangs you become associated with and certainately offers value for money especially at the current price.
In comparison to other titles I've played the story perhaps is a little lame, maybe cheesy, but the game overall is fun. For people that prefer games that will take a lot of hours to complete, this probably fits the bill.
Graphically the game is excellent.
Definitely one of the best games you will get for this price at the moment. Enjoy.
Its a game with a giant "map", very cool game, good grafics
Thisis a great game that gives you hours of entertainment. The game map is very big, and it will take you several days to explore all the settlements, towns etc.
A very good action game!
all the missions and vehicles and weapons are great ! buy it now :)
A refreshingly good game where one can fly aeroplanes, helicopters, hovercrafts, motorbikes etc. Grand Theft Auto style game and hours of fun can be expected.
Pros:
. Fun to play
. Huge map makes for brilliantly realistic game
. Lots of variety in game
Cons:
. Graphics look a bit funny sometimes
. Most DLC (downloadable content) isn't free
. Missions are quite simliar
Overall, it's a great game and for 25 quid it's a must buy!
