Dead Island

only had this a couple of days (the beauty of pre-ordering) but am thoroughly enjoying it, the graphics are great (spectacular in places) storyline is acceptable (same old) and missions can get a bit repetitive but as a package it's an immersive one, opening up and exploring new locations is addictive and the levelling up and weapon upgrading is more reminiscant of an RPG rather than a shooter (something which you soon realise this isnt) overall this is well worth a purchase...

what a great game this is its an open world rpg with great enviroments and colours huge maps from holiday resorts to jungles to inner city slums loads of differnt weapons from bats to axes guns to bombs loads of differnt mods for every and all weapons and loads of gaming hours i have to say its the best game of its kind ive played and one of the best games in general well worth playing what ever your into

I had this on a preorder,and was seriously considering cancelling it after reading some very unflattering reviews,but i,m really glad i didn,t.I have put in about 4 hours gameplay and barely scratched the surface of this game,there is so much to do.This game has longevity,something seriously lacking in the campaign modes of todays FPS.
I say FPS,but this is far from being that,as you hardly ever get the chance to lay your hands on a gun.This is close quarters combat with anything you can lay your hands on.What i found most impressive about the gameplay is the sense of vuneralbility you feel playing it.As its first person view ,you are constantly turning around checking for danger,the undead appear out of nowhere with alarming speed,when you are in the act of performing a task or fighting off another zombie.
When i preordered this,i wasn,t sure what sort of a game i was going to get,but i am pleasently surprised with what i have played so far.One thing i have learnt,is to ignore reviews by so called non biased critics,and to trust my own judgement.

A highly addictive game with a great story and fantastic gameplay, the only reason I haven't given it a 5 star review is I can't stand the auto-save feature. You cannot manually save your game therefore If you all of a sudden find yourself wanting to do something else, you have to wait for it to automatically save or lose your progress since the last save. I would recommend this game to fans of the Left 4 Dead and Undead Nightmare games, however buyers be wary of the annoying auto-save feature.

The game is good with the world you are in giving you some amazing visuals, The zombies are well detailed and the layers system is very nice and can also be nasty when you break a zombies arm. However, The start to the game felt very slow. I felt I was running around doing the same thing making it abit tedious, after getting bored with doing the same thing I haven't progressed any further and I have about 2 hours of game play. I'd say give it time for the price to fall a little and then buy. A great game if you have the patience.
