I like everyone else has been really looking forward to the newest addition to the Modern Warfare series of COD. And dare say it I'm gutted with the latest incarnation on first impressions. I can honestly say that I dont think there are any improvements since MW2, graphically it's the same, the sound effects are mediocre at best and the single player campaign is predictable and short. There is no "WOW" factor like there was in MW2 (even Black ops had it's moments). MW3 is souless. The best part of this game is the spec ops, but I wouldn't justify anyone paying nearly 40+ for that alone.

Multiplayer (which for me is why I bought this game) is a hit and miss affair... the "miss" being hit detection which is absolutely terrible. I'd go as far as to say it's worse than the hit detection in Black Ops. (I have a great 30meg broadband connection through Virgin which doesn't give me any problems with any other multiplayer game before anyone starts?! :-P ) I've never had any problems with lag during online play yet, but I find poor hit detection unbearable and unacceptable in this day and age. I'm praying that Infinity Ward will hopefully release a patch soon that will resolve this issue.

Quick Sniping is back whether or you love or hate it, but you will only find people who are very good at it running around with a sniper in MW3 as the multiplayer maps are small! They do look nice, but they all give a very similar feel as you find yourself repeatedly running around in built up area's which make way for some very close combat at times. The re-spawning is another gripe I have with this game and more than on the odd occasion have I been spawned into the game being already down the sights of an enemy and dead within seconds! Again this should be patched as I'm not the only person who has raised these comments on forums and in reviews. I really hope Infinity Ward are reading and listening to these comments and release updates soon because even the fanboy's can't keep this game at 5 stars and I'm sure that will reflect on sales in the long run. I'd never thought I'd see the day when Infinity Ward would let MW's standards slip. It's by far the most popular series of COD and as a huge COD fan I'm gutted with MW3.

Being a huge COD fanboy i couldnt wait for this game after the dissapointment of Black ops. Sadly ths game is a huge let down. After 2 years development there is nothing new its just a map pack. The graphics are rubbish as is the sound. The COD franchise has had its day and its the last one i buy. Im very very dissapointed an absolute lack of imagination and effort from Infinity Ward and Sledehammer.

It's poor. I prefer Little Big Planet! There's just nothing good about it whatsoever.

This review is based solely on the single player campaign which is absolutey superb, the graphics are the best yet in a COD game, the story is epic and on a much larger scale than anything before ad it had be hooked from beginning to end, as usual with these games it only takes about 8 hours to steam through the campaign but the spec ops levels offer unlimited replayability and you wil find yourself replayig campaign levels to find all that intel. I absolutely love this game and it is the total opposite of Battlefields hopeless single player mode... oh Price, how we've missed you...

Yes it is MW2.5 but i personally loved mw2 like the majority of the COD series, so a mw2 with new maps guns, better graphics, sounds, less lag and other online problems is fine with me...
If there had been drastic changes everyone would have said...it doesn't feel like cod... or its trying to be bf3... so if it aint broke (how can the best selling fps franchise in history be broke) dont fix it... AND FOR ANY BF3 PEOPLE, yes your game has better graphics, bigger maps vehicles, more tactical etc... its completely different to cod. COD is fast, brutal and based on instinct, reactions, Put it this way BF3 is like the longest day, lots of people big areas, slow moving and COD feels like the end to butch cassidy and the sundance kid, your gonna get shot, so why not just go out in a blaze of glory...:) IF you liked MW 1 OR 2 then this is the game for you.

After the disappointment of Black Ops (which isn't made by the same developers of the MW series) I was hoping MW3 would deliver an improved MW2 although I was not sure they could as MW2 is (was), in my opinion, the best FPS ever.

I can understand why people are saying it's "like a map pack" as it does play exactly like MW2 but come on what do they expect. One of the greatest selling franchises of all time cannot disappoint millions of fans by re-inventing itself when it is already near perfect. The sales figures speak for themselves, if MW2 was rubbish why was BO the biggest selling game in history!?

MW3 does play exactly like MW2 but with improved graphics, sound, an innovative killstreak systems, revised perks, guns and challenges as well as all new campaign and special ops! For 43 pound every two years I think that's a bargain and have already got my monies worth in playing time in less than a week!

If you didn't like MW2, you won't like this, if you did like MW2, you will love this. If you have never played an MW game, buy this now and decide for yourself!!

what a dissapointment, they spent 2 years improving MW2, they have given us new maps and have changed the layout and fixed some glitches. TAKE MY ADVICE AND DONT PAY ANYTHING OVER 20 quid - Thats what you will pay for the maps from PSN.

Love the new game. New storyline, better graphics and improved weapons. Multiplayer maps are good, and new survival challenge mode is brilliant fun! Beats BF3 hands down!
