4 A 'smashing' game!remaskedfoe | 15/07/2008 | See all remaskedfoe's reviews (1)My main gripe with the Gran Turismo series of games is the lack of car damage (and personally I'm more of an 'arcade' than a 'simulation' racer). This game fills the gap between GT and the Burnout series of games which has, in my view, leaned too far towards being a 'sandbox style' game (vis-a-vis GTA). A thoroughbred racer with well designed tracks (most virtual representations of real life circuits) and all the cars that I as a young boy used to dream of driving (now lumbered with a Vauxhall Corsa - practical but without punch - there's a reason that didn't make the cut for this game!). If you want a solid racing game that provides a multitude of different styles (Track, Drift, Formula and Derby) this is the one for you. None of the nonsense of having to drive around looking for a race and a lot easier to get to grips with when all you want to do is start having fun - the best all-round next-gen racing game released to date marred only by the lack of split-screen multiplayer.
