now i'm a pro evo fan, and i purchased the FINISHED fifa game, and i think it's a pretty decent game. however, what i don't understand is, why some people here feel the need to write a review for a FINISHED game, when they've only played the DEMO!! do these people know that some customers may rely on the rating system as to whether they should buy the FULL game or not, and therefore it is irrelevant what other users think of the DEMO?? use your noggin people.
I have just downloaded the demo of this and cannot believe how poor this is in comparison to how the pro evo games play. I looked forward to having a go on Fifa as had read that the series were taking great leaps forward and "catching up to pro evo slowly but surely". Having played the demo though they are not even in the same league! fifa is slow, no proper control of passing, the shooting is horrendous, even with the power bar! I cannot see why the fifa genre still sells so much when they churn out games like this.
I will put it to you plain and simple, what do you value more:- graphics or real life playability?? Pro evo wins every time. And the graphics & licenses on pro evo are just about on par with Fifa now anyway!
Dont be absurd, avoid this at all cost and spend your hard earned money no Pro Evo, there's no competition whatsoever!
(and anyone who disagrees clearly do not know how a football game should play and feel - Fifa is arcade football, no realism at all).
downloaded the demo !! very bad. why to the players moove about as fast as snails ? looks like its pro evo again this year !!! when will they get it rite ?
A devout Pro Evo player and addict up until the astonishingly bad Pes 2008, I went against the grain and begrudgingly brough Fifa 08 for the PS3. Painful as it is to admit, Fifa 08 is infinitely better than Pes 2008, and any football game I've played previously. The pace of the game is perfect, the balance and shape of the matches is flawless, and the graphics and presentation are the best I've seen. Missing a one-on-one on Pes 2008 is of no concern to anyone, knowing that another chance is likely to come 40-fold during the match. The pace of Fifa allows for a less arcadey experience, and genuinely requires thought and deliberation to crack. I hide the box from my friends and family, as I am still ashamed to have bought a Fifa title, but this game is genius.
This is based on the Demo.
This is a solid game, the graphics and animation are excellent, the player likeness's are very acurate and the best thing of all.......the game play seems to be pretty good too.
At first it seems a bit sluggish, but as you play it just feels more realistic. This of you that actually play football will know that players can't twist and turn at the speed of light.
For me personally, the games play seems to more realistic.
You are able to inject a bit of pace into the game through slick passing, one-two's etc or slow it down, spread the ball around etc.
Those reviewers saying PES 08 is ten times better etc, what are you basing your comments on?
I personally loved the PES games until last years "net gen" game (on the 360), it was like going back in time, simply awful. This years game is an update/improvement of last years game engine. There are not any demos in the mainstream so lets all try to keep reviews of Fifa 08 factual and not score the game down in comparison to agame that has not been played. Very frustrating.
Brand loyalty to this degree is quite stupid.
