WWE '12 (With Bonus The Rock Downloadable Character)

I am a Wrestling game fanatic.. There I said it.. I have bought ever single wrestling game since the WWF Wrestlemania - The Arcade game and so as such you can imagine my horror to see that this years release is one of the most problamatic I have ever experienced in my life.
Before I go into just some of the Bugs in this game I will say Presentation wise this game is very pretty.. Yes Pretty! It looks amazing but overall you dont buy a game because it looks nice, More so because you want a game thats going to last you and be enjoyable to play. Sadly yhis is not the case here.
Match types are identicle to last years Smackdown Vs Raw 2011 but in some cases thats a good thing, In others a bad, as more updated matches and match types would have been a nice addition to what is supposedly a fresh start/reboot for THQ.
Create a wrestler is still the same with minor updates in terms of Hair styles and clothing options and as said before this basically is SVR2011 with better graphics.
Create an Arena is a nice new addition although given the other problems its something now that gets overlooked, Road to Wrestlemaina this year is a nice One long road divided into 3 character segments, which despite some limited options in matches and there outcome, is still a good mode.
Universe mode however, the bread and butter of this game is now sadly where we have lots of problems, mostly if you want an all Created Brand making this year as was promised possible by the leading execs at THQ is not actually possible along with a whole host of other things that were promised possible but have now flled short of there target.
Below is a list of just some of the Other glitches and bugs so far

Offline, when superstars come out, their names are not announced

Cannot see DX walk to the ring during entrance (only tron showing)

Edge And Christian tag entrance not appearing in entrance list

"in a ladder match, I fell off but was suddenly transported back into an RKO off the top of the ladder."

"in the Royal Rumble I climbed up top, and Morrison was stuck in mid air for 5 seconds." (needs clarification)

Game locking up, requiring restart to fix

Ejected manager walking through the ring

Whenever the ring is present (CAE or during matches), it will on ocassions present a dark/shadowy flickering box covering part of the ring.

Eliminated participants in the Royal Rumble float

RTWM sometimes superstar themes will not play

Edge's Five Second Pose features strange animation

Random DQ for no reason

Wrestlers failing to enter the match during Royal Rumble

Edge & Christian's Movesets change to Alberto Del Rio's if you change their entrances

Game crashing during RTWM if you do not do the "Button Prompt" Moments straight away

Missing depth of field during Universe Matches

Titles assigned to brands in Universe w/o being part of the show (There is a fix to this)

Online mode having sever dificultys in anyone getting access to online features, not only match wise but also comunuity creations having freeze and non active server problems for most other people too.

All in all this game was rushed out and not given the correct beta testing to ensure all if any of the tech bugs were ironed out and as a result this game and we as fans are now suffering because of it, Its a sloppy effort on the part of THQ and i'm furious at the sheer lack of polish that has gone onto this game, a game that boasted being so much Bigger, Badder and better, this year has falen way way Waay short of its tagline and I hazard a guess but lost a good chunk of its loyal fan base with repetative glitches and lies over what was possible.

WWE 12 is awsome.It has amazing quality.It looks more realistic and smoother than it ever was and has more creations like Create An Arena.It is a game worth buying.

Well, the below reviews are correct to a degree. But the plus side is that THQ have acknowledged and will be releasing a patch very soon. So, once this is resolved, the game itself......... Excellent!!
The various modes are improved and added to. The RTW story is better in my opinion though if im honest, a little tedious at points. The universe 2.0 is fantastic, unlockables that come with it are fun to achieve and give a little extra on top of the trophies that will pop frequently.

Online (once fixed as mentioned) is also a big improvement and easy to d/load your fave wrestlers that are created by fellow users.

The create modes are improved again also. The create an arena is great fun and adds to the fun if like me, you play with your buddies a lot.

I could go on but over all, once the bugs are fixed (dont get me wrong you can still play the game happily at present too) I think WWE 12 is well worth the 5 stars ive given it. Well done developers, good job but next time sort the problems out first!!

If you're a WWE fan you should own this game, the modes are really top notch (with the exception of Road to Wrestlemania which features only 3 playable stories unlike the 5-6 stories in past games) and the roster is amazing. You should really invest in the DLC's if you have a PSN account since they really add something to the game.

But the bugs and glitches in the game are ridiculous, there are so many it's unbelievable. If you have custom soundtracks/entrance themes you'll find that sometimes they play throughout your entire match and you can't stop them, you will NEVER get into Community Creations online, it's impossible, and there are so many others its unreal.

Other than that it is one of my favourite games and once you get used to the glitches you don't even notice them anymore. I'd recommend it.

lot of the stuff the other reviewer mentioned is nonsense.

All entrances can be found they are just listed under superstar followed by a number.

The bugs are quite heavy but its nothing major only issues ive had are the online server this year is useless so playing online is a major issue at the minute and the teams keep reseting.

The universe mode is so amazing this year so many different cutscenes and you rarely see the same one during the same month which was the issue with the last game.

Rivalaries are excellent this year with them lasting for months and months and at times who rivals with who is completely random.

RTW this year isnt the best and i actually downloaded the Unlock all from the shop as i didnt want to play the RTW any more.

But trust me apart from Smackdown 2 and No Mercy this is the best wrestling game ive ever played.
