Double your bag of tricks: Take to the streets and own the spots of New San Van with new tricks like one-foots, handplants, hippy jumps, and more

Move it! Get off your board and move stuff to create your ultimate spots to skate and destroy

Change the face of the city: You can't rebuild the scene alone - call on your crew to uncap the spots, drain the pools, and provide some personal security

Hall of meat: Punish your skater in the harshest ways possible with all-new bone-crushing bail physics. The new 'Thrasher Hall of Meat' mode features brutal slam challenges complete with gestures to customise your gnarliest bails.

Create spots: After you've moved stuff around to create the best spots, show them off. Upload your custom spots, download other gamers' stuff to skate, and vote on whose spots rule

Even more online skating: Roll seamlessly between single-player and online skate sessions and compete for cold hard cash and/or glory in the new competitive online modes

Express yourself: Use the Graphics Creator to build custom graphics, then slap them on your hats, hoodies, and decks. Now that you've personalised your skater, film your sickest lines with the expanded skate. Reel and share your vids with the world.

               Not worth the money

Like all EA games, EA have gone and taken the same product and re-wrapped it in a different packaging to make a quick buck of us costumers. To be brief, the map is more or less the same then Skate 1 and it is disappointing for all of those who have played Skate 1 thoroughly. The game can also be very frustrating. If you have a short temper do not buy this game because you will find your console outside on your street in pieces. The people, cars, security guards, other skaters and skate stoppers always get in the way and really test you patience when your trying to nail a bs tre flip down a huge stair set. The game is short and pretty boring, the missions are similar and there is no real interesting back story to the career mode. The cut scenes are also very boring to watch and the instant replays after you completed a challenge are terrible, a) you don't see your trick most of the time and b) they are slow at loading. HOWEVER the game has improved from is previous predecessor. The ability to get off your board and move around is helpful, the new tricks such as one-footers etc are fun. But to be fair the Tony Hawk franchise had done all this by 2003 when Tony Hawk's Underground was released. Therefore EA should have done this in Skate 1. So in my view the game is only worth 2 stars and a waste of money, so i would advice to put that money to a side and save it for Skate 3.

               Excellent game.

Owned it for a few weeks now, only paid 32€ for it.

My GF got me Tony Hawk 8 for its cheap price after it was released on platinum, but I only needed about 1 hour to find out it was still pretty much the same as the previous versions...

Skate 2 is something different though, it feels a lot more realistic and has an awesome style. I can enjoy myself for hours just skating around doing realistic stuff and editing replays. The possibilities are pretty much endless with all the things you can move around and there 's tons of clothes for your character to wear. The career is a lot more fun than TH8 imo, skating for magazins, street contests, pool contests, etc.... way better than collecting some letters around the map. Another difference is the map layout. Unlike TH8, you 're not playing on small maps but in stead it 's one huge city with curbs, rails, jumps everywhere.

I admit the controls are hard in the beginning and pretty frustrating at times, especially when you 're new to Skate like I was, but after a few hours I started to get the hang of it though and now I 'm really enjoying the game.

Online mode is fun, up to six players and so far I haven't noticed any lag.

Imo a must buy for every skater!

               Really Good

First of all i just want to say to GTA4GLC and HANNIBAL42 that if you are only basing your reviews on only playing the game one day then please don't bother. I did not play the 1st Skate and i am a newby for Skate 2, i have to admit i am finding it hard but after a few days now it seems to be getting better, as they say practice makes perfect, the story is very good and im impressed with the graphics and i think the trophies on the game to win dont seem to hard to get so there is plenty of incentive to keep playing once the story is complete. Im even going to buy the downloadable content on PS store so i can have a skate around some of the 1st games maps. I give this a 4 star at the moment based on first impressions and a few days playing it but if i wrote this in another week or two id say it could be a 5 star game and for sure not a waste of money. Dont be put off by people slating it after only a couple of hours playing it, you may just need to get to grips with it.

               Control difficulty

I found the controls very difficult to get the hand of but after that the game has a good story and some nice moves to try and master.

Great! (Based on game NOT demo)

This game is great! I got it on the day it was released and it is brilliant! You start off from being released from jail and then you go out into New San Van and in time you get people to sort of work for you to do things like drain pools, uncapp rails and things(New security mongcorp capps things) and get a guy a little bit like a bodygaurd. The new moves are cool as you can do things like hippy jump over barriers and do hand plants on things. The new city is quite cool but one thing that does sort of bug me is occasionaly ramps are left about in the middle of nowhere. Another great thing is the ability to get ff your board but it can be a bit slow and sluggish but being able to move things around makes up for that. The graphics are really good, brand new storyline and the intentional bails thing is really good because in the last game i was the sort of person who couldn't skate without being knocked down every five seconds but now you can do that while getting yourself into some teeth-gritting position and even better you get paid!Seriously buy this game!
