Ok if your real fans of the NFL you will probably appreciate this review if you are just fans of the game you more than likely wont!!
EA Promised us that we would get a real life experience of the game this year. added features that soon get repeated so much you end up skipping them anyway. by deciding to put so much time into these pointless bits of detail they have neglected what really needed changing: On the field gameplay!!! with the emergence of great def lines you have 0.5 seconds in the pocket before being sacked. But when you play defense the computers QB has about 6 seconds in the pocket - come on were is the fairness?
They have also now made it very hard to complete plays of 10 yards or more, even if your Tom Brady and you have the weapons he has!!! this is a stupid thing now were defensive backs stick to recievers like magnets.. its pathetic. In real life If randy moss has 1 on 1 coverage and brady has just 2-3 seconds its goodnight defense. Sorry EA you got that wrong as well.
Im saying this based for gamers who play all pro/ all madden by the way as the other 2 difficulties are too easy. The graphics are solid yet again as expected, but you just feel there is something missing and its the arcady feel to it. The gameplay is on offense far too wooden and on defense far to rushed, you barely get a second to audible/ change player before the snap has been taken. The added "fight for fumble in a pile" now means guess what? MORE FUMBLES... I played 4 games with new england and dropped it 11 times. Now thats ridiculous!!!!
I will end this basically by leaving 3 good points and 3 bad points.
good point - Extra detail before the game
good point - ratings are more accurate
good point - Madden moments returns
Bad point - less gameplay oriented
Bad point - Too many fumbles and Ints
Bad point - Boring commentary and layout on calling plays
All in all I am going to remain loyal to 2009 which for me is still the best one on next gen release, EA sports were very smug about this release but after a full day of opening play from me, they have no reason to be. Madden 2010 is a picture of what the NFL looks like, sadly though,,, not how it feels.
Thanks for reading
This game is perfect in every single way...every new and old about it i love and i cant put the controller down when the game isn't continuously freezing.
Im 31 secs from winning the superbowl in my first year n the game freezes and since then i cannot play for more than 5-10mins before it freezes. It seems to have happened since the 2nd update...im waiting till the next patch before i attempt to play it again...at the moment its £40 down the drain.
I hope they fix it cos this is the best madden yet...although commentary is appaling!
Im in no way an expert on NFL Football, so I can't really go very technical into the game. But if you have Madden '09, this is really worth the 17.99 price tag (correct as of June 2010). Pretty much everything has been improved fromt he previous game and you'll be screaming less at your team! (hahahaha). If you have '09 and at least liked it, chances are you'll like this a lot more!. Give it a go.
Madden 10 is basicly the same as 08 09 game play wise just new rosters and the new pointless cut scenes which there are plenty of and they do get annoying verry fast you will find yourself just pressing X repeatedly to skip them but if your a big NFL fan like me this is just a kink in a otherwise good game.
Downloaded the demo.
Fantastic game, streets ahead of past Maddens in the series...
Graphically its only slightly better...slight improvements in depth.
Gameplay is slowed down to be more realistic...added movements...fight for a fumble...
Now this is the most impressive part! Its just like watching a game on a sunday...you see fans walking into the stadium...FINALLY there are referees on the field...just in general..watch a game on a sunday and youll see it in Madden NFL 10.
Unfortunately this is all i can tell you at the mo but as soon as i get the game ill update with things such as franchise mode!
