Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars Disappointing game

Overall the graphics are disappointing. The whole thing seems to run in a massive delay, there are frequent stalls in the panning in the camera and.or the soundtrack and the whole thing seems like it's too much for the system. The controls are cumbersome and not responsive as you need them to be at times when there is a big shoot out. In its genre it is a pretty weak game with many many other titles being far more value for money. At the current price of 14.99 it would be a good buy but if you got stung for the full amount nearer the time of release then the game is simply not worth it.

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars Pretty good.

After seeing the visual spectacle of the movie i decided to try this.
It has a lot of the atmosphere from the film with recognisable sets and ships / scenery etc.
Pandora is well animated and looks lush and colourful and the mood is spot on.
Gameplay wise it is ok with pretty much go here, do this, collect that, shoot this, shoot that style mechanics...........basic but solid.
Where it is not so hot is the character models, they look shoddy..........Sigourney looks about 90!!!!!!!.........and quite basic, also the voice acting is well dodgy...........think Resident Evil 1 school of acting!!!!!!!!
Online is pretty good with a lively community at the moment and some good COD style levelling up of weapons etc.
Overall a solid but not stellar attempt at a movie tie -in.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Worlds apart from the film.

I bought this game expecting a good movie tie-in game, based on the majority of reviews that I had read.
After a few hours of playing, I have come to terms with the fact that the game is not remotely related to the film. The only real similarities are the setting, and creatures. Characters are completely different (apart from a short appearance from Sigourney Weaver) which makes me feel a little disappointed.
The game itself plays rather well although it is rather difficult and I fear it may become repetitive. The online modes play nicely and the story has some replay value as you have to choose one faction to fight for.
If you were expecting something as engaging and emotional as the film then don't buy it - but if you can put that aside and appreciate it for a standalone game then I say go for it.
