You play as Turok a merc who has joined other mercs to hunt down his old boss/ leader of another band of mercs the problem is when trying to land on the planet they are heading for they or shot down splitting their ship in half and crash land, split up from the rest of your team your new and main priority is to search for any survivors at the other half of the ship. The only problem is there is a huge jungle, Hundreds of soldiers armed to the teeth, and even more deadly meat eating dinosaurs between you and the other half of the ship. How fun.

The first weapons you get in the game or a very useful machine gun but even more useful a hunting knife. When taking on the soldiers you can play the game in two ways either run in all guns blazing alerting the enemy to where you are or take the stealth approach by getting up close and personal with you knife which is much more fun, of course you don't just have to use your knife your machine gun come with a silencer and not far into the game you get your trusty bow which allows you to kill quietly from a distance. But still your knife is much more fun and guarantees an instant kill with the soldiers. Dino's are more complicated they can be hard to sneak up on and was you attack they are all over you. Using a gun can be really tricky to hit them as well they are fast and strong the best way to take care of them is to dodge and with your knife equipped, when close enough the R2 icon will appear use allowing you to perform a special kill. However you can get a bit bored of this after a while as there is only really 1 or 2 ways you can kill your enemies using this method and after seeing the same kill scenes over and over again can get a bit repetitive.

The soldiers in the game are quite easy to take care of, but if they attack you from behind if you're not quick enough then you're done for. The dino's in the game are sneaky they are quiet and quick you have to keep your eyes and ears open at all times. At first though I thought the enemies where not that smart as when working my way through the first solider base at the beginning of the game I was firing at these two soldiers but they wouldn't fight back I was in plain view, out in the open and they just kept running backwards and forwards, this happen a couple of more times (with the dino's to) before I realised they aren't hopeless they were trying to get to me but they couldn't and in certain parts of the landscape there seemed to be a invisible wall preventing them to get to me this has happened a half a dozen times and the first problem I've found with the game.

The graphics in the game are great the wide open areas you fight in are nice to look at and the people have had a lot of time spent on them on them making sure every little detail is more or less perfect. However there have been 2 occasions in the game so far where in a cut scene there have been people around me whose armour wasn't there then slowly load up on the character as the where moving, talk etc another small glitch that doesn't affect the game at all but it's there and noticeable.

The main strong point of the game is its story the voice acting is great and the whole thing plays like a movie and is great to watch and play through just for this reason alone.

Turok is a great first person shooter it does have a couple of irritating glitches that shouldn't be there and killing people with your knife, although fun can get repetitive, but you can work round these and still have a lot of fun and enjoy the game and its story. Your definitely getting your money's worth.

I've played the demo for only 5 minutes and deleted it off my 360. i dont like where Turok has gone... Turok has become a futuristic blaster. Its obviously moving with the times which will win new fans but to me they should have named it Dinowars or something daft. It just doesnt feel like Turok anymore. What i'm trying to say is, if your hoping for the classic Turok then get your N64 out but if your looking for a modern FPS with a difference get this!

review of demo. this game looks quite good, gameplay is average. storyline. kill dinosaurs and soldiers. for £29.99 worth a look, but price reflects enjoyment. worth a look if youve got no other options.

this game is pure class a real good mixture of mashing dinos and killing men.

the game makes men really clever meaning that they are harder to kill the dinos are a bit stupid but dosent change the 5 star rating this game deserves.

this game is under rated . tops 360 version
