Sega Rally (PS3)

Vets of the older versions rejoice! This is the greatest version yet.
Don't go expected realism - this is sega rally not a rally simulation! Just drive around the fantastic courses as fast as you can - that's it. No messing around with settings and tyres etc.. Great pre and post pub game.

Sega Rally is THE game for arcade enthusiasts. It's not meant to be a simulation, it's physics are not meant to be realistic, it's one aim though, as always through the series is Arcade Fun. This game passess that test with ease!

Graphically the game is jaw-dropping and is easily one of the finest looking racing games around at the moment. It feels so fast, and runs at a rock steady 30fps, no matter what is happening on the screen.

The sound puts you in the mood for tearing around the track at break-neck speed, and is a staple of Sega's arcade race games.

Gameplay, you'll not find a better racing game on any platform. It's more fun than Motorstorm, a million times more fun than Dirt and you'll have hours of funs racing against your mates.

The key is FUN, and fun it is. As you can't crash, you can bomb around the track and do things you never dreamt of doing before. The deformation of the track really adds to the skill involved, as each time you circle the track things become more difficult if you take the wrong racing line.

Forget the game-purist reviews, if you want something you can pick up and play, and enjoy from the outset, Sega Rally is the game for you.

(Based on the Demo) This game is a must buy for PS3. I say that because if for those ture Sega Rally fans remember the Dreamcast Version, they will love this new edition. When the PS3 rumble controller comes out, they will enjoy the fullness of this game. When going over dirt and the track inprints they will truly feel what the game is all about and love it. It's a must buy for all true Sega Rally fans!

This games graphics are great, locations and car detail is very impressive also the mud and dirt that appears on the car is cool.
but the handling needs a bit more work i think.

Brilliant. A Surprise classic.
I played a demo of this and was instantly hooked.
It's not as realistic or varied as Dirt, but for pure speed and thrills this rally game is unbeatable.
The handling gets some getting used to but, once mastered, the feeling of making perfect laps is second to none.
Its an exciting speedfest and the courses are gorgeous to look at. One critisism is that there isnt an awful lot to unlock, but the tracks are so good you'll want to play them again and again anyway.
There's no damage to the cars and the courses are also much more forgiving than Dirt (Which is also an amazing game by the way). Rather being able to drive off the sides of mountains and roads there is an invisible barrier that will just cause you just to slow down or stop. This adds to the arcadey feel and speed of the game.
My advice is to try and get hold of a playable demo and if you like the feel and look of it and feel as though you can forgive the arcadey handling then get it.
If you dont...dont.
Dirt and Sega Rally are both different and great enough to have both in your collection.
