Review

SAW is a third-person perspective, survival horror game based on the SAW film franchise. SAW features many of the deadly mechanical traps seen in the film, as well as terrifying new ones. Players will pit their wits against Jigsaw as they navigate his world in an attempt to evade and escape his gruesome traps, while also struggling against his minions in brutal combat by using weapons found within the environment.

The story centres on Detective David Tapp who awakens in a decrepit, abandoned asylum. He has been captured by his longtime nemesis, Jigsaw. Obsessed with catching this serial killer, Tapp's mission has consumed him and ruined his family, resulting in divorce, mental imbalance, and abandonment. Worse yet, this frantic hunt destroyed Tapp's career while he watched his long-time friend and partner get killed by one of Jigsaw's traps. Now Jigsaw has the upper hand and has captured the detective. Tapp must play a deadly game - the likes of which he has been investigating for years - to escape, and in order to do so he must survive the lethal traps and puzzles that Jigsaw has put in place for him and others. But each victim has a dark connection to Tapp. Will Tapp save them? Can he survive his obsession to find the Jigsaw killer?

I am a huge saw fan and at first really enjoyed the same but the puzzles are so repetitive. You do serveral when playing the game and when it comes to saving someones life, you have to do the same puzzles again just with in a time limit to avoid them being brutally killed by jigsaw. Very bizarre. Overall great game but its more like silent hill with lots of problem solving!!!

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the positive reviews.

I am a huge Saw fan so i just has to buy this. For its retail price, it's not worth it! Firstly, only Tobin Bell reprises his role as Jigsaw. None of the actors from the movies come back for voices and neither do their likeness's. Secondly, the conbat system is really poor, worse than Silent Hill in fact. Some of the puzzles become irritatingly repitive and it is mosty, poorly written, with characters repeating the same old dialogue. Aside from Tobin Bell as Jigsaw, the only reedeeming factors are the surroundings and the return of some infamous traps form the films. Dissapointingly the main Saw theme doesn't feature. It's fun enough to play with some gruesome scenes and creepy atmosphere but i can't say it's great though. Best buy this when it goes down in price.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars pleasantly surprised!

to cut straight to the point... this game is a lot better than what i expected! it reminds me of the old resident evil series on the ps one and ps two. there's lots of puzzles to solve starting of quite simple and progressively getting harder as you make your way through the game. if your a fan of the saw series then you'll love this game or if your just after a rpg that's dark, gory, resident evil like then this will be right up your street. the only downside to Saw is the graphics are a bit ps twoish and the fight scenes are poor but i didn't let that ruin the game for me as it more than made up for it in all other aspects. i really recommend Saw so give it a go!
