Amazing game ruined by game freezes

There is no doubt in my mind that Fallout 3 is wonderful game in so many ways, but for the game freezes that have, at least for me, ruined the experience. The first 15 or so levels are fine with only occasional freezes, but once you hit the high teens be prepared for the game to repeatedly freeze. The PSE forums are buzzing with disgrunted Fallout fans, and does appear to be an issue with the GOTY edition in particular. I have tried various "fixes" but nothing solves the problem. Buyer beware.

  absolutely amazing game

I was hearing great things about this game, and it didnt upset me at all, will keep you addicted since the very first moment you play, a huuuge world with lots of things to do and misssions to accomplish, good mixture of rpg and shootingaction, the story is riveting, will keep you entertained for long specially with all the DLCs included in this pack, you wont regret buying it, a ps3 must

  Though old, Amazing quality!

There is only a few minor problems with this game, is the major 6.7GB install size, it still becomes slow if not freezes, but you get all DLC for the game already installed on the game, and 'broken steel' lets you comeplete the game, then complete any quest, trophys, locations ETC.. to be completed, texture is sadly terrible on some surfaces close, but from a metere or two in distance it looks beautiful, enemys are smart quests are.... okay, some are brillient and fun, but some are easily get from point A to point B, and the starting of the game after you leave the vault is poor and far to hard/dull/boring, untill you get to the half way through the main game, then its brillent, **TIP** DONT DO ANY DLC TILL LEVEL 10 ATLEAST, otherwise have good weapons or armour, or good aid, overall-
QUESTS 8.5/10
DLC 8/10

Only problems is the casual freeze, or glitch you will definatley come across atleast a few times....

Just one more to say the same: Is just an Amazing Game.

I have to say this jus one more time, this game is an amazing adventure, with a good history, that make yourself involved in this drama, also the enormous extension of this map make this a game to play, recommended.

Another great game from the makers of Elder Scrolls. It should be a 5/5 but the DLC'S let it down on glitchs. I played through the main game first with only one freeze so no problems there but on the pre-loaded DLC'S is where it gets messy and very very stressfull.
Before i could even complete the first DLC the game froze over 100 times to a point where it was almost not playable.....which is such a shame. My advice is buy the original game then buy the DLC'S or for the sound price of 14.99 buy it and put up with it.

A great game, but choose the original over Game of the year

Fallout 3 is a great game, if you have a bit of time and patience once you build your stats up and level up it is very rewarding. you can fast travel also so dont have to actually take the time to travel around the hole map. i had the original game and would give it 5 out of 5. after losing my data on my ps3 i had to start again so got the game of the year edition.

Jeez does the game like crashes or what! so annoying with the amount of times the game crashes, this does not happen on the original, not sure how the game runs on the original with the expansion packs downloaded.

at times it struggles when there is lots going on and can be jerky too. bit of a let down, as someone else stated, why not just release a patch.

It is a great game though, if you like rpg than you need to own this. It will take a couple of hours to really get going, once your out of the vault thats when it really gets going.

Epic game - just a shame about the freezing.

The game itself is basically the best thing ever to be created by humans. It was the first game I bought for my PS3 and I was totally addicted to it. The fact that it's so open with so many different possible story lines (and sidelines) means you can keep playing it for months.

The only down-sides are:
1. Some of the add-ons are too linear (Operation Anchorage being the main offender). Others, however, are great (especially the main storyline extension, Broken Steel).
2. Once you get up to higher levels (e.g. low 20s and above) the game starts freezing. This can get really annoying, as you have to restart your PS3, sometimes several times per hour, depending where you are in the game etc. Basically, SAVE REGULARLY!!

Those flaws lose it one star, but it's still an amazing game. It gave me a vast amount of entertainment for 17 quid.

fallout 3 game of the year.!!
