NHL 2K7

Just bought this game at the weekend and have not stopped playing it since! Great graphics and gameplay really bring the NHL experience to life! If you like your sports games fast and always action packed then this is a game you will love! If you are not a major Ice Hockey fan (Like me) then don't worry, the rules of the game are easy enough to pick up and soon enough you will be tearing up the ice and playing like a pro! This game is great on Multiplayer mode as you can quite literally batter and bruise your opponent either by smashing them through the glass with a body check or by fighting with them on the ice to gain a psychological advantage in the game! Even if your not too keen or if you are unsure, for under 20 quid its well worth a go and adds to that games collection that you are so desperately trying to build! I'm hoping that FIFA08 is of equal or better quality (if possible!)

This is easily one of the best sports titles currently available on the PS3 (although this isn't really saying much considering that the selection of games in general for this console is still rather limited).

But don't be fooled by this fact because NHL 2K7 is a damn good game. Ok so the graphics aren't exactly next generation console standard but that's hardly an issue here because this game is all about the gameplay. Its fast, its furious and its highly addictive fun. Admittedly I can see how the controls could infuriate some gamers but with some patience once you get the hang of them there really is no stopping this game in terms of its entertainment value.

To help add to the experience there is also a tutor explaining the new gameplay features which the game brings and I highly recommend you give these a practice before heading into a full flight game.

Another good point about this game is the improved computer AI. As a result, once you pass the easiest gameplay settings you no longer feel like your playing a bunch of idiots.

One of my particular favourite features however is the games commentary, unlike other sports games it does actually feel like these guys are living and breathing the action they're watching, I love the way they analyse any of the goals that you score during a game.

The franchise mode on the game is also particularly addictive, but this is generally aimed at the more hard core ice hockey fans. There are all sorts of features and options you can choose from here and if you feel like it, your more than able to bury your head in the various playing stats etc which are available to you.

Add to this a variety of novelty mini games and a fantastic price and you have a game that will easily satisfy the vast majority of people who decide to buy it.

Well the price suggests that this game has some major faults. Really hte only problem is that the graphics aren't to good but this is easily the beat sports game out there with great multiplayer and single player. Buy it and you are hardly going to miss the money

When I saw this for £17.99 I had to get it, came within a couple of days and I put it straight in the PS3.

Initial thoughts were of rage! It was awful! I couldn't get to grips with the control system and found it painfully difficult but I carried on going and grew to like the game.

The problem I find with this is it's not got a addictive gameplay. It's a pretty hectic game which has a lot of potential but from the little i've played it so far it has failed to reach it's potential. I will be trying to play this more but with a few other games around on the PS3 that I own I can't see myself playing it too often.

I would say this is definately a game for the Ice Hockey enthusiast, maybe even as a substitute for lack of football games (personally prefer NBA at the same price) but it just doesn't quite do it for me.

For £17.99 I can't complain though, thank you play.com for a very good and very competetive price!
