Building on the critically acclaimed Ferrari Challenge racing simulation engine, SuperCar Challenge heralds the addition of the sexiest supercars on the planet while improving on its spiritual prequel in every way.

The very best supercars will be available to throw around the most celebrated corners on the racing calendar. Experience the thrills and spills that come with harnessing the full grunt of an Aston Martin DB9, the Lamborghini Murcielago RGT, the McLaren F1 and many more! Of course, the game caters for the Ferrari fans too with a selection of favourites making the cut from 2008's Ferrari Challenge.

More than 20 licensed race tracks will also be available, with old favourites such as Silverstone and Spa mixed in with the joys of Nürbergring. Several fictional circuits are also available such as the French 'Riviera' street circuit.
  • Full 1080p high resolution graphical display.
  • Realistic rain results in slippery curbs, increased braking distances, slippery grass, standing water, back spray from opponent cars, increased opponent errors and of course, it looks very pretty!
  • Get straight into the supercar action with cars ranging from the Lamborghini Murcielago RGT, to the Aston Martin DB9, to the McLaren F1, to our previous favourite the Ferrari FXX.
  • Intricately detailed licensed tracks ranging from favourites such as Silverstone and Nürburgring to less well known greats such as Mugello Italy.
  • Challenge Mode: This career mode allows you to tour the globe taking on the various racing challenges that are thrown at you. Whether that means simply taking pole, completing a race with no damage or simply staying on the track in wet conditions, you'll be scored on every aspect of your race. This score will then translate into Race Points, which you can use to buy new cars for your showroom, test drive new cars or buy one of the many livery packs and vinyl elements intended for car decoration.
  • Other Modes: Tournament Mode, Arcade Mode, Quick Race and 16-player online/LAN multiplayer.
  • Vinyl Shop: Ferrari Challenge's praised livery creation tool has been taken and improved considerably, allowing you to design and place your own logos on any car in your showroom.
  • Expert Tutorials: Top Gear and 5th Gear's Tiff Needell will be recording full voiceovers for the game, including tutorials for 16 of the toughest racks in the game.
  • Dynamic AI: Rival drivers will get better or worse depending on how you race so you'll always have a decent challenge going on around you. Of course, should you wish to have consistent AI you can switch this mode off. Drivers will also have their own battles with or without your influence and will make mistakes even if they're half a lap ahead or behind you.

System 3 SuperCar and Ferrari Challenge simulators - NOT

| | See all DriverJon's reviews (5)

Having read reviews of this game, I decided to take a chance and buy it. I really should have learnt my lesson on Ferrari Challenge. So I'm writing this to save someone £35 of their hard earned. Firstly go look up the definition of S.I.M.U.L.A.T.O.R. and burn it into your memory. From the reviews of both System 3 Games I can only imagine that people who believe this game is realistic, either a) can't drive or b) aren't old enough to hold a driving license. The same goes for the handling of that other King Turkey GT5, where you bounce off walls, barriers, other cars etc

When you fire up this simulator and take any car around any circuit you will notice that the laws of physics don't apply to it. Let's take Spa circuit as an example - take a car at full speed down the straight to "Les Combes" chicane and make a full right turn lock into the chicane. The simulator will turn with the turning circle of an ocean liner, drift wide of the apex and gently trundle into the gravel pit - realistic simulation is it?

Now, next time you simulator drivers and Ferrari drivers (and ravers of this game) are in whatever you drive and you find yourself in a wide open space push the right pedal down flat until the car won't go any faster. Next take hold of the wheel and make a hard right turn as fast as you can. I guarantee you will either a) spin wildly or b) jack knife resulting in sky, road, sky, road, sky, road - death. You will quickly realise just how 'real' this simulator game actually is

I don't care what traction control or stabilising control you will have on - the back end will over take the front end - that's what actually happens when the laws of physics apply in a real situation. Remember that simulator definition, go look it up again.

Summary then - this is not a S.I.M.U.L.A.T.O.R. the steering and handling resemble nothing of a real car. Go to a track day and find out what real actually is.

Conversely, the ravers of these System 3 games often pour hatred on GRID and Colin McRae, saying they're too arcadey. They're about 100 times more realistic than this simulator. Try the full right lock manouver, in either game, as mentioned previously, it will achieve the desired effect.

got this game and heres what i think of it.

let me just say i loved ferrari challenge but this game beats it and most other driving games hands down in my opinion.the handling is perfect, the way you have to control the car as you brake and take a corner is sublime.the ai are really good.they will block you and spin off themselves and make mistakes, and really try to beat you.if you overtake a car they fight back amazingly hard.the game has 20 odd tracks and loads of cars.yes 60 percent of them are ferraris but i couldnt care less when a game is put together so good as this.it has new cameras, one being right near the window so you can see the whole track in perfect glory and just the top of the steering wheel.it really is frightening and it resembles the view in ferrari challenge 355 on the dreamcast etc.playing in that view when its raining is totally real and spectacular.the graphics really are awesome.massive improved over ferrari challenge the tracks and cars are really detailed and the rain effects are just out of this world.this game brings to life a real sense of you being there in real life.put it into the new cockpit view and its very real indeed.it has loads to do and see and should last a long time with the challenge and tournaments and arcade modes.i personally prefer this to gt5 which i got a few hours ago and was pretty bored with it.great visuals but boring, but hey thats my opinion.if anyone ever sais to you dont buy supercar challenge and if you love racing games, you dont buy this, you will regret it for ever it really is that good.the game also runs smoothly all the time with no slowdown at all unlike nfs shift which is diabolical.

gameplay : 9/10 awesome physics and if you like arcade games stay away!!

graphics : 10/10 you have to see it to really appreciate it and the wet weather is amazing in cockpit views

lifespan : 9/10 loads to do and online 16 player as well

my score 28/30

Great Game but quite short and a tad too easy...

Okay, so this wasn't meant to be everyone's cup of tea, and if you want a racer you can play every now and again and enjoy from the word go it's probs not for you... As for me I love the more realistic racers that make you think about the way you drive for you to get out good results... and this delivers..

Okay so the graphics haven't been polished to GT5 level or the whole career structure that well developed, but instead system 3 has put its time getting the phsyics right...

Firstly I'll admit I've not played this with anything but the 'simulation option' or with a controller (ive been using the Driving Force GT wheel) and I can honestly say that there are very few cars that handle the same here with this setup...

DriverJon's review made me laugh till it hurt with his made up opinion... Not to mention he said that trying to crank on an instant full lock at top speed?! Your car flips over?!
When you've been through Uni and sat through lectures purely on the co-efficient of friction and overturning/skidding formulas till your bored, like I have, you usually understand car physics better... :)
Every sportscar I've every driven will more than likely just understeer cronically (with the exception of a high downforce race car, which may stick to a point!), and this game delivers this...

The force feedback with this game/wheel combo is excellent and really gives the effect of understeer/oversteer and skidding... Can't fault it... really makes it easier to play when you can feel like your part of the car!

Again, If Burnout's your type of racer, maybe give it a miss, if you are having trouble waiting for GT5...It's definately worth a crisp 20!

 Unfinished Rubbish

I went out and bought this game last friday foolishly for £39.99. Soon as I saw the first car with the intro I thought "This looks like an unfinished ray traced car" and it just kept getting worse.Over a 5 day period my friend and I tried every car on every track we could and compared notes. The sound of all the cars is pretty much exactly the same except if the car is supercharged and it's very annoying "bang bang" at the wrong intervals. The handling of nearly every car is the same and tuned cars seem the same too. There is no excuse for unfinished cars which are not PS3 standard. The tracks are mapped correctly but unfinished too. The online server is a joke. We waited 30 mins for people to join our race and the max we joined was a french server of 5, totally crap.I am 42 and I love my racing sims and have every console you can think of, I wouldn't write a bad review if it wasn't warranted. This game is a prime example of a team that were rushed to get it out into the shops on a deadline. No doubt they intend to update as they go and wanted to get it out there before NFS Shift dominates the shelves. This game has no shelf life at all and thats why I sold mine today on Play.com for £27 throwing money away basically.I compose music for video games for a living and sound effects too and this game has nothing good or original. One track and bad effects, apart from the odd tire screech. If you know your onions stay away from this game.If your 17 and have half a moustache and think your a boy racer, buy it.But.....saying that the game has no real speed you feel like you are standing still on the straights. We tested this game to it's limits and it's a no race contender. In my top 5 biggest disapointments ever.
