Review

Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA are taking the fight to Helghan. Their goal: to capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt. You assume the role of Sev, a battle-hardened veteran and a member of the special forces unit known as the Legion.

For Sev and his squad, the invasion of Helghan is just beginning. Tasked with securing Pyrrhus, the Capital City, they quickly discover that the Helghast are a formidable enemy on their home planet. Not only have they adjusted to the planet's hostile conditions, they have also harnessed a source of power they can now use against the ISA.

Sev and his squad aren't just fighting the enemy forces - their fiercest opponent is the planet itself.

Welcome to Helghan, soldier!

This game took me by surprise (it came free with my console). I didnt play Killzone 1 so had no expectations, but I typically dont play FPS on consoles as I prefer a mouse and keyboard for obvious reasons. Despite the controls taking some getting used to, this game had me hooked after the story got going. I couldnt put it down, then I finished the game. Cue multiplayer. This is one of the best FPS multiplayer games I have played. I wish it was on the PC so I could pwn with a mouse and KB, however it is still fun none the less! I give it only 4 stars as KB and mouse compatibility would have been welcomed. Otherwise its a top game and I will play through the campaign again some day on a more difficult setting.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Better than almost all RPG's out there

Went on this game again the other day and it still is capable of amazing me. not only the fantastic campaign or the unbeatable graphics, the online play still grabs me and continues to help me in hours of fun. the only small problem for me is the anoyance of the not being able to complete as a multi player all the way through even though you have another character acompanying you throughout the single player campaign. it is Not as good as games like Uncharted 2 but dont be disheartend it still very good and a most have for all ps3 users.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Still as good as ever.

Same as my original Killzone 2 review, proving its lasting greatness:

Great game in all respects for both campaign and online gameplay. The campaign on the easiest setting is a reasonably quick one to power through, but some bosses even on this setting will leave you struggling to beat down. On harder difficulties it becomes the hardest FPS to beat since Halo 2 on legendary.
Online play is immense with up to 32 players on one map, the gun fights quickly become chaotic, leaving a feeling of desperation as both teams struggle to sieze objectives. Combined with this addicting gameplay and several classes to get ribbons/medals for this game will keep you playing for hours beyond you completeing it.
