Not just 2011's Best Game, but the Best Game of all time!!

If you want a game that has great gamplay and top-notch action, but has, at its heart, a powerful story, then I would highly recommend buying Arkham City. It has everything you'd want in a game, plus more! Having incredible setpieces and memorably iconic moments that will stay with you, even after you've played the game. For example, and I'm not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn't played it, the ending of Arkham City is really, sombre, really powerful and very grim, but also, somewhat genuinely moving and sad. The cast are also on top-form, with Kevin Conroy still impressive as Batman, and Mark Hamill chewing the scenery and spitting it out in his final ever performance as The Joker. If you've got a HD TV or have a HDMI cable to support your own, I highly recommend watching it in HD. Birghter, sharper, clearer, and better. The 3D viewing option is problematic, but that doesn't matter. I would also highly recommend the Game of the Year Edition for all the extra content as it is definitely worth the money, with Harley Quinn's Revenge being a satisfying conclusion to a great game.Skyrim, Portal 2 and Uncharted 3 were great games and are technical masterpieces, but Arkham City has character, and is, in my opinion, the ultimate video game that has ever been created!

I finally gave into the hype of this game and bought it and I wasnt dissapointed. Not only does B:AC make you really feel like Batman its probably the best game based on a comic book to have ever been released (and this is coming from a Spider Man fan.) Whats great about Arkham City is that it is just such a full package. There are stealth, combat and travel aspects and they all feel smooth and its easy to transition from one to the other. The extra gadgets are excellent and inventive but not necessary so you can make your play style as simple or complex as you want. The production value of AC is clear to see and the story (while not as epic as its made out to be) is still super fun and youll enjoy every cut scene plus the voice actors are all perfect. Its hard to level criticism at this game as far as comic book action games go it really doesnt get much better. The only gripe I had was that sometimes its hard to know where youre supposed to go, from finding dead bodies in the grimy streets in side missions to simply finding the entrance to a building. Also I found a lot of the extra modes were just tacked on and that actually replayability lies only in the story mode and side story missions, not the combat challenges etc which are frankly tedious. This is nothing in comparison to the awesomeness of this game though. B:AC has clearly had a lot of time and effort put into it and it shows.

  Huge Game..

Great step up from the first game. Lots of side missions to keep you going and interesting story line. Plus good downloadable content. Get involved and you wont want to put it down.

You must play this game and experience The Dark Knight!

The best Batman/Superhero, recommended to any Batman fan. The game has come a long way from the brilliant Arkham Asylum, great to see the Penguin in this one. Looking forward to the 3rd installment - if there is one planned? Maybe entitled 'Gotham City', Batman can drive around in his batmobile. I got the Limited Edition Boxset and it is a well presented box set, great extras, I love the statue!

this is a good game but its doesnt have the feel of the the first one. it feels less batmanish! also the bits that are not good from the first game are still in here. the graphics and character design are outstanding and its very gritty, i wish the movies were like this!

  yeah a good game!

well worth the money as there is absolutely loads to do in this game. i was impressed with how good the graphics are and admit it is a very addictive game. i never played arkham asylum so i cant draw comparisons but batman has an arsenal of awesome gadgets at his disposal as you progress through the game. the only reason i give 4 stars instead of 5 is purely because im not into these super hero games as much as other genres, thats all really. top game

I'm going to keep this short. yes its a good game with Arkham City looking awesome, bu thats about it. i think the game makers spent so much time on the city and the actual game was an after thought.

the main story is so short, takes only a few hours to get through and is such an anti climax at the end. yes there are side missions and loads of riddles and riddler trophies etc, and catwoman (which you only play for a little bit so hardly worth it!), but it felt like such a let down when you complete the game.

it could have been so much better, bigger, and longer...roll on the next batman...maybe

  Bigger and better

Arkham city is quite an acheivement for any Batman fans of both modern comic stories and animated films to Batman of old and current movies there are so many little touches and secrets to discover that just delight.

Gameplay it is all very similar to Arkham Asylum a nice blend of combat, stealth and travelling in Batman style with subtle improvements from before. The story starts with a bang a can be a bit overwhelming at 1st but things quickly and expertly take shape.

Aside from the main story plot there are several side missions involving characters from the Batman universe, unlike most games these dont feel like bolted on additional bits for the sake of making the game last longer but add genuine depth and value to the story and game. They are also enjoyable and not a bit tedious.

Returning from Arkham Asylum are the riddler challenges and trophies along with the inclusion of some hostage situations, these prove considerably more challenging this time around making full use of all your skills and gadgets to complete.

There is so much to discover that once you complete the game aside from side missions and riddler challenges so I implore you to take the opportunity to look online to see any easter eggs and in game secrets you missed, stay to the end of the credits for a hint of what may happen in the future.

Anybody buying the collectors edition will not be disappointed the statue is well made and the bonus content is great.
