Graphically this game is fantastic & the controls movement of character, although tricky at first are fairly straight forward.
The best way to play this game is in co op mode with a friend & if you both have headsets even better.
On line co-op should be optional but in this game you have to have a partner which does't work very well unless your on line.
I have played all the Resi games & on comparison this game is very different.
Having a partner for starters takes some getting used to, there's not as many puzzles to solve & the zombies are missing so these are huge changes to the genere, something which may dissapoint you if you are a fan of the series.
This is still a great game though, I played most of it on line with a mate & it was a good laugh.
I'm hoping they make a 6th game but go back to tradition with the dark streets, deserted old buildings, puzzles & zombies!

i have played other resident evil game's and this has to be the best so far! it has a new story that is good and also intertwines other resident evil story's without leaving you confuzzed if you havent played the other games, the graphics are alot better than i expected and actully keep up with the cut scene graphics! and the detail that goes into the levels make it look really polished, new features such as co-op mode online or offline also is a great new add on to the game and ive had hours of fun playing with friends im so glad they put that in :) also in all the levels your not left wondering where to go next or what to do, theres plenty of ememies to kill ranging from guys with chainsaws to alligators. i think the way the game was put together really makes it a new fresh exellent game, the only thing that could make it better is to make it scary again because in this game it has lost that also there's not really any puzzles or anything wich makes it feel more like an action game but other than that this game is one of the best ive played and it hasnt dissapointed me and it is deffenatly worth the money i would give it a 9.5/10

This addition the RE series introduces CO-OP, which isthe best thing they have ever done. Now you can play the entire game, mercenaries and extra content with a friend on or offline.

Very exciting game. Never gets boring. Play it on each of the four diffuculities and you unlock something new everytime, ranging from alternate costumes, game filters, figures, files, special weapons to extra games. 10 on 10. You wont be disappointed.

`Resident Evil 5' is the latest in the series and is the first Resident Evil game on the next-gen consoles (PS3 & Xbox 360). This time it sees Chris Redfield, the star of the original and Code: Veronica, go to Africa to help stop a bio-terrorist threat. Helping him along the way is a newcomer to the series, Sheva Alomar who has his back throughout the game.

I thought I'd wait until I'd finished the main story (on normal difficulty) before reviewing this game and now that I have I'll start off by saying that this game is excellent. The African setting is a great change to the series which has been mainly based in science labs and creepy mansions and is now set in the brightly lit streets, crocodile infested swamps and temples filled with infected tribes people.

- The new setting, making it feel like something completely different. Just what the series needed.
- The online and split-screen co-op. Finally! The one problem with the Resident Evil series has always been that it was entirely a one player game. Now a friend can join in the action.
- The action is very fast flowing and intense. There's not a dull moment in this game.
- The visuals are some of the best I've seen on the PS3. Life-like character models and ultra realistic backgrounds make this one of the most stunning games ever.

- It's pretty short. The levels can be finished between 15 - 45 minutes each and sometimes even quicker in co-op.
- In single player mode, Sheva can get in the way a lot and having to watch her back throughout the whole game can become annoying in the harder sections.
- It's not at all scary. This has gone from being the ultimate in the survival horror genre to now just being an action adventure game.

Overall this is one of the best games so far on the PS3 and I highly recommend it to both fans of the series and newcomers as it really is action packed and such good fun to play. Although the controls and style have not really expanded from Resident Evil 4, this is still absolutely brilliant!

 A must for Res fans!

This is an excellent game, the gameplay is far better then the others, and an excellent storyline. Once you've completed the 4 difficulties things do get abit boring, but theres a huge amount of arsenal for you to fully upgrade and make infinite which does make the last 2 difficulties abit easier, as with professional mode once you've been hit you automatically go into dying status. I would recommend the Gold Edition for the extra costumes and 2 mini games which relate to the Res 5 storyline, and you'll find the lost in nightmares expansion quite nostalgic, as the mansion is very similar to the original mansion in Resident Evil 1 many years ago, and much spookier. My only fault with this game is the repitition, and the fact it still isnt zombies, but overall a very good game!
