PS3 Slim Console with 250GB HDD
The internal design architecture of the PS3 Slim, from the main semiconductors and power supply unit to the cooling mechanism, has been completely redesigned, achieving a much slimmer and lighter body. Compared to the very first PS3 model with 60GB HDD, the internal volume as well as its thickness and weight are trimmed down to approximately two-thirds.

Furthermore, power consumption is also cut to two-thirds, helping to reduce fan noise. While inheriting the sleek curved body design of the original model, the form factor of the PS3 Slim features a new meticulous design with textured surface finish, giving an all-new impression and a casual look.

PS3 system software update version 3.00

  • The updated system software adds various user-friendly features such as the "What's New" screen, where users can quickly browse the new items available in PlayStation Store as well as their recently played games directly on the XMB (XrossMediaBar), with shortcuts to each piece of content. PS3 will evolve continuously with the system software updates, further improving the operability and enhancing the user experience available through the network. PS3 owners will be able to enjoy new features by simply updating the PS3 system software to version 3.00 via the "System Update" function on the XMB.

    • BRAVIA Sync feature

    • The PS3 Slim is also equipped with the BRAVIA Sync feature. By connecting the PS3 Slim and a BRAVIA TV with the HDMI cable, users are able to directly operate the XMB on PS3 using the TV remote control. Other functions include "System Standby" that will automatically turn off the PS3 when the BRAVIA TV is turned off.

    • By utilising the Vertical Stand (sold separately), users will be able to set the PS3 Slim in vertical position, making it easier to place the PS3 anywhere at home.

    I recently sold my 60gb and went out and bought a 250gb this console is amazing especially for the price and wat u get. A massive 250gb hdd the graphics are amazing u only need to look at heavy rain or uncharted 2 which won tons of awards and god of war3. It also includes a bluray player and online is totally free. Even if u want motion controll it has the controler motion not that it is implemented into games much but it is good aswell as the playstation move coming out soon. Recomend it to anyone

    A while back, I reviewed the 60gb hard drive and wasn't too favourable and I got a lot of stick. It's entirely subjective, so respect people's opinions rather than insulting them and giving no feedback. Rant over, I'm ready to talk Sony. This is great. Good hd space, Blu-ray is useful and finally, Sony exclusives are picking up. With Metal Gear Solid already under the belt, Heavy Rain and God of War have joined it as three of the best that are unavailable to 360 and Wii owners. I personally still prefer my 360, because oh Gears, Halo and it's much better online. However, that is not to say this is not a great console. Sony has picked up it's game and Microsoft will be more worried than ever.
