Hotly anticipated, but disappointing. I fails to live up to MW2, or indeed COD4. Graphically the game underachieves, not a patch on the IW4 engine. It is glitchy, and ugly. The multiplayer is glitchy too, you'll fire a rocket, it lands inches from somebody and they survive...I've gone through the floor, gotten caught in sandbags, just not good enough. I feel let down, they have overcomplicated things, the cod points system has destroyed the fun of the game, which is receiving things as you level up.
This game is it! Finally a game that is a compromise for the hardcore and casual players. Online the guns have recoil and the hitboxes (places where you have to shoot to get a hitmarker) are finally downgraded from MW2 where they would often drag around the player. This game has gotten so many bad reviews from players who think they know what a good fps game is. In MW2 people would often camp and gain massive killstreaks just by getting another killstreak reward with another one! No, this is not ok! In black ops killstreaks don't count towards another killstreaks. Ok so the game needs skill to be played online. Sound world is now finally REALISTIC!! It's not this MW2 hollywood s**t! Finally explotions have a stiff and realistic bang. All underaged MW2 kids say that soundworld is awful. Well now it's realistic! This game is not meant for kids and is rated Mature for a reason. And at the end I have to say that ALL of the pro gamers say this is THE COD game just next to the original MW! So if you want laser rifles with 13 year old kids camping and raping people with nukes, go for MW2. If you want a game that reguires more skill than luck with realistic soundworld, go for black ops!
Also, the campaign is SO much deeper than MW2 with all the twists and has a really amazing storyline. More movie/documentary like than any other. There are only 3 games to buy this year: Black Ops, AC Brotherhood and GT5!
If you're buying for multiplayer, as I and many others did, don't - it's absolutely dreadful. Spawning right in front of enemies or enemies spawning right behind you, sound is muffled, joining friends' lobbies is a chore, framerate issues, lag, weapons that like to shoot where you're not aiming, incorrect scoring ... awful, just awful. Stick to modern warfare 2 - I think a lot of people will be returning to it for a better multiplayer experience.
For me it is one of the best experiences you will get from a fps shooter, no matter what people say they will always compare it to the other call of duty's but believe me this is one of the best so far if not it is.
its just call of duty if you like any of the other call of duty's no matter what you will love this one I know the price can be a little of putting but it is such a good game it is an absoulte essitial for every gamer to get.

Basically ever gamer needs this game in their collection
To start with the campaign is good and I did enjoy it but its very easy even on Veteran and should only take you a matter of hours to complete literally. The Zombie mode is great this is the only reason im giving it one star, but more maps was needed.
Now for the multiplayer the main reason as to why I bought this game...In one word 'TERRIBLE'. The online play just constantly crashes, bad connection even though your connection speed may be great, takes ages to get into a game...just awful.
The online game itself is just boring, there is no purpose to the multiplayer game just run around and shoot people then die. MW2 had the great feature of titles for doing certain challenges and mastering weapons. This has none of this, the challenges you do do will im sure reset when you prestige (to much punishment to try and do it to know) then you'll have to do them all over again...The graphics are poor the maps are terrible all the same to big and far to many buildings. You find yourself having to use the same gun over and over eg assault rifle or sub machine gun. Forget sniping on this no chance....I used to love mixing my weapons up a bit on MW2 but you cant do this on here. The secondary weapons consist of pistols a knife and a crossbow THATS IT!!! Utter rubbish. The primary guns arnt much better few to pick from only 2 stand out thats the AK47 and Commando assault rifle, The rest are rubbish.
The contracts are boring you just keep repeating the same contract over and over. The COD cash is a good idea for about ten levels then youve bought everything you need. Treyarch should have added something different e.g Tanks or jeeps with a machine gunner on the back so not to make every map so monotanus.
Ive had this game 2-3 weeks and i was bored with it after 1 week now im playing something else.
DONT WASTE YOUR CASH WAIT FOR INFINITY WARD TO RELEASE NEXT COD GAME AND GET THAT INSTEAD.....
