Not as EPIC as the first one, but better than the second release. It's a cool game nevertheless. If you have a 3D TV it gets more awesome! For less than a tenner, cheap as chips.

  AWESOME 3D!!!

This was my first experience of playing on my 3D TV, and what a ride!, blows away 2D driving games which ive never found that interesting. Debris and flames, explosions, etc all fly out the TV, very addictive and great to mess around with friends.
Couldnt reccommend more highly, especially at this price!!!!.
Lets hope they make more 3D games like this!!!
Buy it!

Very very good , but not as good as Pacific Rift

AS other reviewers have mentioned this feels more like a sequel to Split Second than Motorstorm. Thats not to say its not a very good game its just not as good as the previous one. The graphics are amazing but teh story mode and handling arent as good as previous games. A slight critism as there is still very much fun to be had. Too be honest I appluad the developers to taking a different direction to the motorstorm series as Im fed up of endless sequels rendering old games useless by making very very slight differences.
Well worth owning , especially at this price, just dont trade in the last Motorstorm for it

  3D Gamers must have!

I have recently purchased a 3D TV and I have a few 3D games, such as GT5, Tumble, WipeOut HD, Hollywood Bowling, Killzone 3, etc. However, I went out and bout Motorstorm:Apocalypse because I had read good reviews about the game, but the reviews said it sets the standards in 3D gaming....... and it does.

The 3D graphics are out of this world compared to the other games listed above, which are really good games with proper 3D, but Motorstorm:Apocalypse is a standard above with water, dirt and debris flying towards you..... seeing is believing.

  APOCALYPSE NOW

When i first got my 60g ps3 motorstorm was the very first exclusive game i got and it gave me big hope for the rest of the exclusives to come for ps3. Apocalypse has again thrown the gauntlet down with everything been improved big time. Graphically this game steps up to other racers such as burnout paradise and need for speed and gives them a big run for their money. Gameplay is very and i mean very fast sometimes so manic you will find it hard to concentrate on everything that is going on around you onscreen it is that detailed. Sound is excellent both music and car crash/engines sound amazing through every level. Online i have not yet been on as i got the game while all the business with the psn been hacked had happend, but from what i have read and will get to eventually play online i think it will turn out very amazing indeed. My advice if you like fast racing whilst seeing mega destruction then you need this game. PS3 ESSENTIAL.

I was going to come on here and have a little moan but now I am half way through the game, MSA has come into its own.

Initially and I still think that the 'Rookie' level which you have to do is way too easy. The tracks are great fun but lack ay technical challenge. However around half way through the 'Pro' level, thiings definitely start to hot up and due to the fact that the tracks morph (no not the little plasticine guy) the challenge gets much tougher. t took me around 3 hours to complete the 'Rookie' level and only had to try each race one to get through but now it is taking more attemtps at each race which is what we want. I guess for newbies, the fact that Rookie is easy is a good thing but for the seasoned, it is no great.

The amount of things going on in some of the races is seriously impressive and really must put the PS through its paces. I agree with other comments that the story mode is totally unnecessary and would have preferred that they put the time they spent on this into the rt work in the game itself as compared to the previous iterations, it is poor in places (although still great in others.) What I am saying is that the graphics are smooth but a bit squeky clean in places. Also disappointing in the lack of the '......In this ageless valley' intro with the much loved MS theme. Otherwise, the music in the game is superb and challenges once again most other dirving game scores and the action once you are part way through is awesome.

The additon of the new cars in this version is much welcome and now we have tarmac, we have Super-Minis, Super-Cars and Super-Bikes. All great.

I am glad overall that the developers have listened to their critics though and have moved the 'last lap' indicator away form the middle of the screen and have also given us back 3 laps. In fact some races are 4 or 5 laps which is brilliant. I have to admit in Pacific Rift, I felt totally robbed with only two laps per race.

Overall, this is a must buy. I wish there were more races in it, there aren't so many tracks but the morphing makes up for that as each time it id different but because they wanted to achive this, they have not simply given us the same track with different opponents like before. I can see what they wanted to do but they could have given us both and more races. I hope that like the first Motorstorm, we get some Race Weekends for offline gaming. They were great and good value for money.

It is games like this that make me wonder why anyone owns the competitive console. Why would yuo not want Motorstorm in your collection?!
