The newly announced PlayStation Move: Navigation Controller is controlled with one hand, and has been developed to further expand the gameplay options that PlayStation Move games can offer. The PlayStation Move: Navigation Controller features a sleek curved design that pairs with the motion controller and comes with an analog stick and directional buttons that allow users to easily control a game when moving characters or choosing a direction.

Time to Move
The PlayStation Move gives PlayStation 3 gamers a new way to play and interact with their PlayStation 3. The Move is actually broken into three separate parts; the motion controller, sub-controller and the PlayStation Eye camera.

Move to the beat
At this point there are 36 third party developers and publishers gearing up to support the PlayStation Move, releasing more than 20 games that are either dedicated to or support the PlayStation Move platform.

High definition gaming with the PlayStation Move and PlayStation Camera
PlayStation Move offers a motion-based, High Definition gaming experience unlike anything on the market. The PlayStation Move platform, including the motion controller, sub-controller and PlayStation Eye camera, work together - and along with a strong line-up of software titles, will deliver an innovative and highly immersive experience on the PS3 system.

The combination of the PS3 system and PlayStation Eye camera detects the precise movement, angle and absolute position in 3D space of the PlayStation Move motion controller, allowing users to intuitively play a game as if they themselves are within the game.

The PlayStation Move: Motion Controller delivers unmatched accuracy through its advanced motion sensors, including a three axis gyroscope, a three axis accelerometer and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor, as well as a colour-changing sphere that is tracked by the PlayStation Eye camera.

With PlayStation Move, both fast and subtle motion can be detected, whether the user is swinging a tennis racket or painting with a brush. With the PlayStation Move: Motion Controller, users can provide direct input through action buttons and an analog trigger, while receiving physical feedback from vibration functionality and visual feedback from the sphere's ability to display a variety of different colours. Furthermore, the PlayStation Eye camera can capture the player's voice or image, enabling Augmented Reality experiences.

Its hard to review the navigator, as it just basically a normal PC3 controller reshaped to fit along side the Move Controller.

Keep in mind you can just use a normal controller along side the Move controller to replace the navigator, but this feels a lot more natural in your hand.

Worth it if you have the money, but not required if you are happyto make do with using your old PS3 controller instead.

Most of the move release titles do not support this controller.
I had hoped it would be like the wii nunchuk, but for games like Sports Champions you need 2 move controllers as the navigation controller is not supported.
My advice it to wait until there are more games supporting this controller.
Furthermore there is no safety strap. If my kids end up putting this controller through the TV I will send Sony the bill for being too tight to include such a basic component.

The Navigation Controller fits very comfortably in the hand and, without the need for a wire connecting it to the Motion Controller, enables you to move more freely when compared to the Wii. All buttons are well positioned and battery charge lasts a long time. Design-wise it's a very nice looking piece of kit.

In terms of how essential this item is, it all depends which games you intend to play. For example, Sports Champions is designed to work WITHOUT the Navigation Controller. All the activities can be played with a single Motion Controller.

You WILL need the Navigation Controller to play games such as Little Big Planet 2, Resident Evil & Killzone 3, where character movement is controlled directly by the player.

Well I bought 2 navigation and motion controllers as I thought i'd need them, BUT after charging them up I put SPort Champions on and.... The game doesn't support the navigation controller! I don't get it.
So check the game cover to see if you really need to buy this controller.

 Essential for RE5 Move edition

I personally feel the Navigator is essential for RE5. if you use the dualshock3 it will actually detract from the experience. The navigator fits nicely and is very light. I've been using the Navigator and Move controller for RE5 and it works very well indeed. If anything my rating on pro went from grade C to A. It fits naturally. Since I've been using the combination I found that RE5 feels allot easier and fun to play.
