I played the demo ages ago and remember thinking that it wasn't too bad - sure the controls were a bit hard to get used to but I figured it would worth a punt when it finally came out. Just got round to buying the full game and I don't know what I was thinking! The controls kill this game dead - forget stealth, forget using hills for cover - you'll just end up smashing into them. Nope - this game is reduced to a brainless arcade fly and shoot affair. It's also unrealistic - enemies with handheld weapons shooting at you from miles away (and hitting you no less!) Maybe if it was a fiver it would be easier to forgive the problems, but at it's current price I'd avoid it - I'm selling my copy on. I doubt I'll be playing it again.
Found this to be a little dissapointing. Why is it developers cant get it together with the whole simulation thing?, surely the basis of a good simulator should be to the quality enviroment of a free roaming shooter along with good solid mechanics of flight.
This seems to offer a very bland repetative landscape and flight controls which are not entirely consistent.
So called "realistic" flight mode just makes the helicopter more prone to rolling and/or ditching into the ground for no real reason. There are no instruments to fly with so the feel is very much more arcade like despite the presentation which suggests this is more of a sim!.
About 20 years ago there was a better quality helicopter rescue sim / game in the local arcades!..why cant we see that quality in the ps3 now!! - Try the Demo before buying.
Again going by the demo, this game is an absolute must for all those rotary fans. This game makes you feel as if youre actually in the cockpit, and the gunner seat is an incredible extra letting you utilize the weapon systems as you would in the real thing. A long awaited game, cant wait for the multiplayer options!
