Two years after Commander Shepard repelled invading Reapers bent on the destruction of organic life, a mysterious new enemy has emerged. On the fringes of known space, something is silently abducting entire human colonies.

Now Shepard must work with Cerberus, a ruthless organisation devoted to human survival at any cost, to stop the most terrifying threat mankind has ever faced. To even attempt this perilous mission, Shepard must assemble the galaxy's most elite team and command the most powerful ship ever built. Even then, they say it would be suicide. Commander Shepard intends to prove them wrong.

  • Mankind's future is at stake:
  • From the makers of 'Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic', 'Dragon Age: Origin's, and 'Mass Effect' comes the dark second instalment in the thrilling Mass Effect Trilogy!
  • Command a unique team of amazing characters on a perilous mission in the most dangerous regions of space
  • Players will find a thrilling standalone adventure awaits them, a polished and action packed journey that surpasses the first game in nearly every possible way
  • Intense third person combat:
  • Take cover, command an elite squad with ease, utilise 19 weapon classes including heavy weapons, and unleash deadly powers against your foes with an all-new and improved combat system
  • Increased intensity with precision shooter controls to let you control the action and overcome insurmountable odds
  • Featuring a new location based damage system: target key weak points, and blast off limbs, ignite enemies, or cripple and disable enemy troops
  • An entire galaxy to explore:
  • Travel the distant and deadly reaches of space to assemble your team for the mission at hand. A cast of amazing characters await discovery on a variety of dangerous, visually stunning worlds
  • Survey unique planets and embark on side missions to uncover more secrets in the Mass Effect universe
  • Robust character customisation:
  • Choose a player class, customise your appearance, and tailor your own abilities and strengths. As you progress, so do Shepard's abilities
  • Control the conversation - improved conversation system where you can take matters into your own hands, often with the liberal application of force

This ps3 version of the game also contains every piece of DLC the xbox version had, but for free!
Also comes with an interactive motion comic that lets you take key desisions from the previous game and import them to mass effect 2.

Must buy for nearly any PS3 user that doesn't own a xbox.

Maybe one of the best games I have ever played.

Everything about this game oozes excellence from its story, gameplay, character developement, graphics, beautiful realised cities and everything in between.

Its story partly stems from the first Mass Effect that I haven't had the privilage to play, but does have its own story for its second outing. The story is fairly simple, with an Alien race called the Collectors abducting off World human colonies and using them for their own personal gain. Theres alot more to the story narrative as you play through the game, that I won't spoil here.

Now onto the port that the game has been given, if someone had told me that the game was made primarily using the PS3 hardware I would believe them. It's better looking than its Xbox 360 cousin, due to the new Mass Effect 3 engine that is being used. The Blu-ray disc really helps to push out a very asthetically pleasing game.

The music of course is still superb, with most of the composition undertaken by Jack Wall, who also worked on the first Mass Effect. It may not be as ethereal and dramtic as the first soundtrack, but its definetly a dabatable subject.

The character developement, is something very unique that really makes you have an understanding of the characters on a personal and emotional level, it's difficult to find a game that induces the viewer/player with emotions so seamlessly which Bioware have achieved triumphantly.

I could write so much more positives about this game, but I don't want to take away more of your time, which could be spent on playing Mass Effect 2; one of the best games of this generation.

There was one negative about the game, but isn't particularly about the game per se. It's not quite the definitive version as it could have been, with not all of the DLC already on the disc, you do have to download most of it. That is the only negative that I can find about the game, which pretty much says it all really.

 AWESOME

This game is amazing - I wasn't sure but bought it off the strength of the 95% review i read in a magazine.

I'v been blown away by it - The charecters and story just suck you in to a rich and atmospheric world. The compat is similar to uncharted (cover and shoot mechanic is very similar) but with squad controls built in.

The squad can be controlled simly with a d-pad command and your crosshair. Squadmates are intelligent and the AI is superb.
I normally hate this sort of thing but this is handled excellently.

I'm about 6 hours in and I know I've barely touched the game so far.

The RPG elements are handled really well with simple conversation choices and basic levelling up - Don't be put off - this is no Final Fantasy or Fall Out!!!

So far the missions are varied and really interesting - This is a shooter above all else and the action is handled really well. The battles throw twists in at every oppertunity and there is a real challenge and tactical element to the shhoting sections.

I think this is a must buy for the PS3 - It uses the Mass effect 3 engine so this looks great too - Play this in preperation (out late 2011) this is worth every penny. FANTASTIC!!!

I was not going to bother getting this game as there is so many coming out at the moment, but thought what the hell the other day and i am hooked. If your after a game that is 100% value for money buy it, you like space games buy it, but if you do it does take some time to get going because the game is just so big. If you thought roaming around in the wastelands of Fallout was big you havent seen nothing yet.
