One of the best PS3 exclusives

This is easily one of my favourite games on the system.
Great story and atmosphere, unique weapons and nice visuals.
Besides that, it has also got a phenomenal multiplayer and the ability to play the campaign with a friend in both offline and online coop.

  best of the trilogy!

this review is based solely on the campaign mode. i absolutely love this game! there is hardly nothing to dislike about it! the graphics are great and the background music really sets the tone at certain stages throughout the game. the storyline is great and you find yourself really close to the main character. the only negative i can comment on is that the ending of the game really does seem rushed and a bit of an anti climax but for me i still cant knock a star off for that, still a first class game! i cant comment on multiplayer mode as i havent played it.

  Great but not perfect!

I have to stress that Resistance 3 is a great game in its design and gameplay as it should be. The problem is when I look at the three franchises that born on PS3: Uncharted, Motorstorm and Resistance, Resistance franchise hasn't seen much of overhaul as the other two. Resistance 3 apart from couple of moments is not thrilling ride as you'd expect. Maybe it has to do with tone of story or that we are not playing as Hale anymore. R3 tries to be more atmospheric and scary unlike the last two games. One section of the game reminds me of Ravenholm of H2. As with the last 2 games i was expecting for a climatic battle that doesn't happen. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe because i was expecting too much.

  getting better

well i have to admit this game is far better than the second, the only problem i can see is with the online. i hear people complain about playing online in other games and re spawning and dying instantly this is the first game i have really encountered this. but the story mode so far for me at least has been ok.

i dont give anything a five so its a solid 4 stars.

not sure why people think it is too short, i didnt think so at all. i also dont think its like either the first or second one. (which i both liked). there's a real variety of settings and scenario's and the story has a nice feel about it. great stock of weapons too.

recommended.

This is a great game but...

... but the campaign mode was not what i expected. I kinda prefered resistance 2 in terms of length and giant boss battles... it's still a great game and with campaign coop you can play the story with a friend and enjoy the game again and again... gathering credits for unlockables also adds to it's replayability value.
Still... i expected a gigantic boss battle at the end of the campaign mode that never came...

  Better than Resistance 2

I really enjoyed the game. The multiplayer was quite fun, especially once you get more unlocks. However after a week or two there were people who were so unbalanced (lvl 60, with rocket launchers etc) and it was not htat fun anymore.
Singleplayer is much much better than r2 even though they stretch out the ending by a bit.

RFOM 3 - Back on track!

This game is a must for hardcore RFOM grim reapers and new fans alike! Part 2 drifted off course slightly and was indeed a surprise but now we are back on track with Part 3. There is your expected stand up battles with the Chimera and at times tense gameplay that scared the Mrs out of the room with its eerie atmospheric feel as if your in the middle of a horror film at certain points. I took part in the Beta online play and agree with earlier posts that the multiplayer element has caused some frustration but still very enjoyable. You may think the games too short, so, get stuck in with Superhuman mode once unlocked or maybe co-op with a friend. Its a great game that you can indeed revisit and forget you were supposed to help the wife with the shopping! Ooops!
