Sony PlayStation 3 PS3 Slim Console Bundle With 320GB HDD + Gran Turismo 5: Collectors Edition

Overview:

Much more like other Gran Turismo titles, all GT games picks it up slowly and so if you are unfamiliar with sim racers then you have to be a little bit patient. For me GT was always about the slow pace progression in which you taste the sweetness of your success as a car collector. starting nice and slow with easy licenses and easy races with a used car then make your way through to the top.

Standard Vs Premium cars:

The standard cars are not bad looking at all and they make you treasure the moment when you get a premium car. They are mainly used cars and so they are actually very suitable for the first part of the game when you buy simple used cars and race easy races. We all know what premium cars mean so i am not gonna elaborate on that.

Design and GFX:

The game design is nice and the menus are quite useful. You get to add your own touch by setting wallpapers and colors. Gfx are lifelike but there are some issues like shadows which I think is not really a big deal and will not ruin your GT5 experience.

Gameplay:

The depth of content is tremendous since there are tons of things to do. The AI has definitely improved and the physics is just right; done in a way that each car handles differently; I tried messing with the course maker and I liked the results, wasn't blown away though. all in all, this game is quite interesting and a must have for racers.

Final Impressions:

PD took years to get this one ready for us. All the whining about how long did the game take is actually out of context. Let's not forget that during these years PD made 3 games (GT5 Prologue, GT Mobile and Gran Turismo 5). Every second in this game is fun and it is definitely worth the wait.

I was very happy with the speed of delivery from Play.com after only 2 days after ordering. My PS3 arrived on Christmas Eve which ensured the recent loss of my old broken PS3 has now been forgotten. I am now looking forward to setting up and experiencing the awesomeness. Couldn't have asked for more for making my Christmas!

I had the original GT game on the PS and it was always my favourite game. I am more impressed than I thought I would be with this game and the PS3 system in general . I was also amazed to see it download a 600Mb update for the GT5 game , things have come a long way since I got my PS2.

Word of warning, my package looked like it had been refurbished/ previously sold since the outer packaging was damaged. I might have been a little more vocal in other circumstances, but considering the price and the time of year I decided not to kick up a fush. The system itselt showed no signs of previous usage.

The booklet that comes with this version ( Apex ) is a complete refference manual on cars and racing which would be a worthy addition to a book collection in it's own right !

Considering the PS3 cost 450 gbp alone when it first came out then I think it has been worth the wait !

Received this PS3 slim bundle. Its basically a standard 320GB ps3 system inside a giant GT5 slip case. The game is actually safely buried inside the PS3 box though!
