Forget hair colours and gothic settings, with DmC, Ninja Theory have created a fantastic alternate world re boot of a much beloved series. It is fast, furious action all the way, with 7 difficulty settings and a combat gradient that will leave you striving for perfection and keep bringing you back for more!
Dante, has been brought into the modern day world, the whole game has a fresh and contemporary feel, from oufit/style to colourful language and setting. The character development, as the game progresses, is a joy to experience. Dante, starts out as somewhat of a delinquent, living on the edge of society, not really understanding who or what he is - just surviving it as best he can. As the game progresses his backstory unfolds and you get to see the true character that lies within. Oh, and he is cool, incredibly cool!
From the very first cut-scene you are plunged deep into the action with Ninja Theory managing to incorporate a combat teaching style that is unobtrusive yet supportive enough to guide you to using your weapons to their maximum potential. Style points and mission completion bonuses leave you wanting to achieve perfection in combat, aiming for a SSS rating on all levels - not easy to achieve.
It is a beautiful game, set in both the real world and Limbo - where most of the action happens. The environments come to life, so beautiful, you'll want to explore it all and there are threats and bonuses hidden at every turn.
Traversal through the game is FUN, once you get the hang of it soaring through the numerous, stunning locations is immensely satisfying.
The soundtrack, by Noisia and Combichrist, is best played LOUD, it compliments the combat perfectly and the combination leaves you with heart pounding.
The only downside for me would be the lack of a multiplayer element - demon slaying with buddies would be the ultimate!
This game is stunning, a real hack 'n' slash masterpiece. If you're put off by the new Dante, don't be, he's a truly lovable hero wrapped up in some very stylish packaging!

The DMC series must benefit from odd numbers. The first is a classic, the third is brilliant, and DmC Devil May Cry is almost completely fantastic.

It would've benefited from a few less cutscenes and possibly a revised game engine, however even they can't throw me off the engaging storyline, stylish characters and slick, blisteringly fast action. A lot of fun from start to finish - highly recommended

What can I say, if you're new to the series or not you will really enjoy this game. People say it's this and that, well trust me when I say that the combat system is VERY well made, and the story is entertaining at most.

The level design is where it's true colours shine and re playability has lots, collectables secret missions and soon to be released as free dlc Bloody Palace, it has 100 stages of pure combat only for those willing to take a challenge.

Also has a total of 7 difficulties, yes 7! Lets not forget unlockable costumes, what else can I say? Still have doubts because of all the gossip going around? You'll miss out on one hell of a game, GET THIS, what are you waiting for?

It also runs perfect on the ps3, I haven't had any problems at all, loading times could of been better though.

Still giving this 5/5, I don't regret getting this at full price, worth every penny.
