When I bought this game I was skeptical as to whether it would be fun, or just confusing nonsense. Luckily it was the former! The game is a blast, non-stop mayhem from beginning to end. The graphics are incredible, even down to tiny detail like the gun visibly changing on your character as you cycle through them - nice touch!

I found the game challenging, but not bone crunchingly hard (I didnt play it on hard level tho) - but once I had started playing it, I couldnt put it down until i finished it. Ive recommended this game to a few people as a result.

One of the best games Ive played in a while.

 Excellent game.

Admittedly I would not have liked to pay full price for this game, but at 17.99 I think it is more than acceptable.

The main issue that seems to crop up is the length, I completed this in three and a half hours on casual. I did not feel short changed by this, as I enjoyed it that much I started again instantly on hard mode (which I already know will take longer to get through).

It looks fantastic, this is no cheaply made rush job. Lovely graphics in game and during cut scenes, great character designs.

You will no doubt be more inclined to like this game if, like me, you love Japanese culture, anime, manga, cyberpunk and all the rest of it as this is clearly a fully Japanese creation.

I have read of people criticising the setting, saying that it is all too similar. Please bear in mind that the game is set solely on a space colony, that in reality would follow some sort of stylistic continuity! Wasn't a problem for me, there was enough subtle variation to keep me pacified, plus I was mostly too busy being engrossed in a chaotic battle to notice!

Not to give away any spoilers but a sequel is surely on the cards, I hope so.

 Fantastic Gameplay, Thoroughly enjoyed it

Really enjoyed this game right from the offset, the gameplay is always high tempo with multiple things happening at once (beat a boss, turn around and theres a huge ship bout to crash into you)
With the kind of skating function this is what set the game apart i believe, due to the fact that it has not been done before and it makes a change from the normal run around and shoot. With this you can skate around, flank enemies and just cause havoc. Would like to have seen a few more enemies, but overall its still 5 stars for the whole game keeping me hooked.

Gears Of War + Max Payne + Transformers = Vanquish

This is an awesome game, I cant recommend it enough. If there is one game you buy in 2011, make it this one.

 Relentless high octane action....

From start to finish this game is non stop crazy action. It doesn't let up even for a minute.

The graphics are gorgeous, animations are awesome and the futuristic setting is very atmospheric. Controls are very nice and it really is a joy to play when first starting.

It is a hard game. If you want to get platinum, all I can say is good luck! You're gonna have to be super sharp to complete this in the hardest mode.

I would rate this game with 7/10. Reason being that although it has lots of great things going for it, I got a little bored towards the end. The story is very short and simple and the whole game takes place on one spaceship, so the scenery never changes. It's crazy fighting on a spaceship, followed by more crazy fighting on a spaceship and so on with no story to make you care about what you're fighting for and motivate you to what was a rather unsatisfying end.

It's certainly worth a play though and I'm glad I bought it.
