Top Spin 4

This is one of the best, if not best tennis games around at the moment. The makers have a done a great job with the 4th installment and improved upon Top Spin 3.

The game play has actually been made simpler, with visual feedback on how well you 'stroke' the ball and rewards timing with some fantastic shots.

I'm really giving this game 4.5 stars BECAUSE a) Wimbledon licence is still lacking, please make sure its in for TS5! and b) the limitations of character creation and development. Seriously why is there a limit to development? In reality you can train, train, train and train until you perfect your techniques. Just look at Nadal's monster defense and offense or Federer's effortless grace and precison sniping forehands. No matter what you do, you cannot get near (stats wise) to the likes of Federer, Nadal or Djokovic. Pleas give the player more freedom with character development!

To be honest ive played many tennis games and this has come top of the list. This is the best tennis game ive played, The graphics are great also the player shots have improved since top spin 3. If you buy top spin 4 you wont be dissapointed.

This is the best tennis game on the market by a mile. It is a deep tennis game, but it is also easy to pick up and play.

Regarding using the Move controller, at first I didn't like it, but after getting use to it and despite what other people have said, I find the move works superb and I love it!!!

Top Spin3 was great - this is disappointing for me. On the basis that it is too similar to TS3, seems to have worse graphics than TS3, has terrible Move functionality and just generally does not have oomph for me (kinda like a Henman serve of old!).

Still better than Virtua Tennis which makes it the best tennis game on console - unfortunately!

Firstly, if you are wondering whether to buy this, then I would say YES! It is a great game - slick, fun and addictive.

Whether you are a die-hard tennis fan, or tennis-gamer fan, this will suit you. It caters to the technically minded and those just looking to pick up the game and get stuck in. The career mode is excellent, but you can just jump in and play as one of your favorites....

The reason it lost a star is because of three issues which have become apparent in the day I've been playing this. Firstly, loading time - it is not overly long but VERY frequent. Have a beverage handy! Secondly, the character models are a bit ropey....movement and sound are excellent, but detail and accuracy is lacking.

Finally, it's brilliant that we have some of the tennis greats here, but the female line up is severely lacking! Where's Stefi? Where is Mauresmo or Seles? Navratilova? No? Ah well...

All in all, buy it and have fun!! I'm off to play some tennis!!

PS - I'm using the controller and NOT Move...

Create your own player then off you pop to Career Mode. Practice with a Sparring Partner to get used to the controls and shots which are easier to pick up than the last instalment. There is also Practise Grounds and Lesson Training for further experience, instead of silly little mini games to progress your players abilities. Hire a coach, (lots to choose from with different qualities) who will furthermore help you acheive your true potential as a tennis professional. Career Mode is great..! with lots of different tasks to keep you busy whilst you climb the rankings. Go from Rookie to Legend. Play and Controls are by far the best out there just now, although i do have Virtua Tennis 4 on pre-order, but will be great comparing these two titles as Top-Spin 4..., serioulsy is an amazing game. Online play is pretty slick. It has an online Season with tournaments and a couple of Grand Slams. Also Direct Matches and 2k open. Only slight disadvantages are sometime slow connection or loading times to play, other than that..., AMAZING...! I prefer using the SixAxis controller as to the Move, only because i can't get used to the Move, but that's just me being used to the controllers. Great Game... Buy this and you won't be dissapointed...!!!

Really enjoyable game from first time you create your new player and get their first outfit to the first time you step on court.You go through the usual training part first of course and you wont be long in getting to grips with the controls and they are well thought out and easy to get to grips with.
One thing to mention is the real players animation,things like Federers crushing backhand volley to Nadals powerful forehand,its all here.Each player is captured superbly and their sublteties in the game also.This game is a treat to play and I could go on a lot longer.
Spend your money on this one its well worth it...great game.

This is a real treat to play. I really enjoyed early Virtua Tenniss but this is almost perfection. The play is smooth and very very accurate. I played with the move but quickly opted to go back to the controller. I think the accuracy and 'feel' of the game is lost with Move. It looks fantastic and after the influx of first person shooters its the best game I've played for a very long time. If you like tennis, you'll love this.

Downloaded the demo for Top Spin 4 and it looks good. It is easier to play. Top Spin 3 was not a bad game but was slow.
