So... you want to be a fighter? UFC Undisputed 2010 is the only mixed martial arts videogame that delivers the action, intensity and prestige of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Step into the Octagon to experience the most advanced and commanding virtual MMA action with more than 100 of the best UFC fighters in the world. Experience intelligent and intuitive combat, increased fighter customisation, robust career progression, challenging new gameplay modes and explosive online offerings. UFC 2010: Undisputed embodies the ultimate essence and supremacy of a UFC fighter. Ready to be one?

Ultimate Fights Mode

Ultimate Fights Mode is the evolution of UFC 2009's Classic Fights Mode and allows players to relive some of the more memorable fights in UFC history. Players are given the opportunity to play the mode as a single player experience in an attempt to unlock content associated with each fight. Players can also play the mode as a two-player experience, squaring off against friends with special presentation and commentary elements.

Each fight opens with an introduction from one of the UFC Octagon Girls, Arianny Celeste or Chandella Powell, who break down the significance of each fight. Following the introduction, a pre-fight montage is played with comments from each fighter and a brief history on how the fight came to fruition. Once the prefight montage is over, the basic match flow occurs and gameplay begins.

The main difference between Classic Fights from last year and the Ultimate Fights for UFC Undisputed 2010 is the introduction of Fight Categories and Multiple Challenges for each fight. Assigning each fight to a category helps structure the mode and allows players to easily identify each type of fight, while the introduction of Multiple Challenges for each fight adds replayability to the mode.

Another new component is the ability to "play as the spoiler" (or the fighter who lost in real life) and provide additional challenges and unlocks associated with the losing fighter, where players look to "rewrite history".

Upon completing all the challenges, the player unlocks the ultimate reward - a montage that recaps the actual Ultimate Fight itself.

UFC Undisputed 2010 on the Playstation 3 will offer players 20 Ultimate Fights - with 5 Ultimate Fights exclusive to the platform. The Sony-exclusive Ultimate Fights list is as follows:

Ultimate 2009 Category
UFN 18 - Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann

Ultimate Knockouts Category
UFC 102 - Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia

Ultimate Classics Category
UFC 60 - Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie
UFC 66 - Keith Jardine vs. Forrest Griffin

Ultimate Submissions Category
UFC 68 - Martin Kampmann vs. Drew McFredries

  • UFC fighters and personalities: Navigate an unparalleled roster of more than 100 prolific UFC fighters, each fully rendered to convey a photorealistic appearance. Prominent UFC personalities, including the commentary team of Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg, veteran voice of the Octagon Bruce Buffer, Octagon Girls, referees, trainers and more return to showcase an authentic and memorable UFC videogame experience.
  • Enhanced combat: Step into the Octagon with improved combat. A new Sway System with full upper body and head movement allows for the dodging of attacks, while on the ground, a new Posture System delivers strong, fight-ending strikes from every position. Manage Octagon control with new strikes, submissions, transitions and cage positions, as well as experience added realism with the introduction of Southpaw stance.
  • Fighter customisation: Enjoy customisable freedom with created fighters by combining move sets from numerous MMA disciplines. Choose from an array of moves from all available disciplines, including newly added Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling, to become a true mixed martial artist.
  • Expansive online play: Encourage camaraderie by forming fight camps and leagues to participate in ranking and champion tracking systems. Join forces, train like real-life UFC fighters and go online to compete against other camps in the virtual UFC world.
  • Career mode: An intuitive "Game Is Watching You" system tracks every action and uses this information to dictate in-game commentary, opponent intelligence and overall career progression. On the quest to reach the UFC Hall of Fame, enhance the Career Mode experience through online co-op sparring sessions with respective fight camps and form unique personalities for created fighters to increase their cred, popularity and sponsorships based on interactions during weigh-ins and interviews.
  • Title and Title Defense modes: Fight through one of UFC's five official weight classes to earn and defend a championship belt in Title mode. In Title Defense mode, a fighter's condition remains persistent, with milestone challenges built in along the way.
  • Tournament mode: Explore up to 16-player individual and team tournaments within one system. Utilise UFC fighters or created fighters and select from arcade-style play with repeated fighter appearances or experience simulation play with fighter representation limited to one appearance

One of the poorest games ever played

I thankfully rented this game. Good job as I don't even think it's worth it's 12.99 tag!
The fights are over too fast, you can't kick out of submissions... It's extremely poor. I was excited at first to see Kimbo Slice on this game, YouTube him and you'll see his brutality as a fighter. But he fights nothing like him. The guy is a man mountain and on this he feels too weak, and his punchs are lame. This for a fighter whom absorbs punches then throws one, and the opponents on the floor.
I actually think the person who created this fighter on Fight Night Round 4 got it more right.
The career mode lacks depth, the fighting ringside atmasphere is more PlayHouse Disney than Box Office spectacular and the action is unrealistic.
Only redeeming thing is graphics and commentry. But by the time you've realised that it's likely to be heading to the shelf as a dust catcher.

 great fun

UFC Undisputed 2010 is a good game. The controls are very much improved from 2009. Even if you or someone else is not a UFC fan, you or that person can just pick up the controller and learn the controls in 5 seconds. The only problem I have with 2010 is the Submission System. I can't seem to escape a submissions (I even followed the tutorial mode). There are lots of fighters in the game too. The online mode is okay too. Overall, this game is good. Some connection problems but everything else is fine.

 Great game

I paid 40quid for this game when it first came out, and it's still only game i really play,
a must have for any martial arts fan,
the career mode is much more in depth than 09,
only thing i'm not so keen on is the submissions,
i myself do brazillian jiu jitsu, so know first hand how effective it is, but its rediculously hard to get CPU opponents to tap out on this game, other than that its brilliant. 5/5 from me.

 AWESOME GAME, INCREDIBLE VALUE

absolutely brilliant sim of the fastest rising sport in the world, thought '09 would take some beating but this has it submitting in the first round!

so good that for this price i'd consider buying it again!

this game is good but a few things iritate me on the first ufc undisputed you could force your way out of a submission or technically get out of a submission, but in this game you can only technically get out of a submission which felt a bit false to see some fighters such as rampage technically getting out of subs but other than that brilliant game
