Staying true to the franchise's original roots, the game returns with another third person horror experience, and an all new thought provoking storyline. Players will once again find themselves face to face with their deepest sins and fears in the strange world of Silent Hill.

The survival horror experience begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill. Gamers will encounter mind-bending puzzles, as well as horrific creatures and otherworld terrors using everyday objects from wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies. The natural response, fight or flight is left to the player as they unravel a dark, thought-provoking storyline which will appeal to fans of the early, classic Silent Hill series, as well as anyone who enjoys a deep, psychological horror experience.

In addition to the main storyline, players will also be presented with variable side quests along the way that can change depending on their play style, revealing unknown evils within the town.

  • *Artwork subject to change
  • All new and updated Silent Hill experience that visually stands on its own with the current competition. Utilizing Unreal 3 technology, the game brings the town of Silent Hill, its characters, the creatures and the alternate hell world into vivid and spectacular display
  • Free-roaming and deep exploration that will take players into all-new 'Side Quests' unlocking areas within the game, special items and bonus content
  • An ever-changing game world including day and night 'Normal' world and 'Otherworld' world, all manifested and sourced from character actions throughout the game
  • First-time ever 3D technology will bring Silent Hill a step closer to the player with three-dimensional immersion

 Fantastic game, but...

The story is excellent and you get some scary moments in the game, thats for sure. some areas of this game has amazing graphics, I didn't really like the start of this game though. The graphics at the start of this are horrible, but when you get out of that part of the game, the graphics are really, really impressive, i would say around 40 minutes in oh and Especially when it starts to rain in the game! Its a massive shame about the framerate to this, such a good game too, i hope they do a patch for this soon.

Oh and personally I think this is potentially better than homecoming, in my opinon, I wasn't very keen on homecoming. But I can see why people liked the game but i also can see why people are not so keen about the game too.
If your a silent hill fan or just wanting a good scare, give it a try...

 Downhill Downpour

I'm sorry to say, Downpour marks another substandard entry in this series. It's greatest crime is being mediocre, it hasn't even got "being really bad it's fun" going for it. Exploration is a pain, the graphics are shoddy, the action elements misplaced and the story is over-simplified. The Silent Hill series needs a desperate revitalization and soon. Although the elements of a game are here, they are all used to poor effect. This certainly isn't Silent Hill 2 with it's oppressive locations and sense of isolation, nor is it Silent Hill 3 with it's intriguing storyline. Even Silent Hill 4 with all it's mistakes was better. The monsters in this game are almost all humanoid, taking away that "what the hell is that?!" feeling the other games had. A real shame, but Western developers really need to go to Japanese Horror School for the next one.

 Boring Game

Returned this game after 3 hours of gaming doing absolutely nothing. Very slow movement and is more boring than scary. Graphics are also not good, this is not for the fast pacing gamer. If you are looking for a zombie killing game look somewhere else.

Silent Hill returns to its Roots

After SH homecoming which was re not that great, this SH downpour is very well designed. Don't listen to the bad review by IGN the game is very good. Many others will say the same also that it returns to the horror classic it was.
