Ok, first up the original Dead Space was my GOTY 2008 and i love the franchise, so i will be as unbiased as possible.

This game ROCKS!!!!!

The main part for me is the atmosphere...the original had a growing feeling of dread and tension which built as the game progressed.....this new sequel does not let it down.
Yes there is a lot more action and set pieces here however they are not at the expense of the tension, the characters are given space to develop and interact and the story is more the better for it.
Isaac is no longer a mute and the simple mechanic works a treat.
Graphically and sonically there is not a huge upgrade but this does not worry me at all as the first game still looks awesome even now......what it does have over the first is variety and scale.
Some of the set pieces are nothing short of stunning and really look the part.
One thing i love about this series is the 'style' it is very impressive in its creation and reminds me of the style of the film 'Alien' where everything actually looks real and lived in, its the same here and it makes the game all the more believable.
The only thing that lacks here for me is variety and by that i mean the shock value of the necromorphs is not the same........i would have liked to have seen more of an evolution in the species and perhaps some newer creature designs.

To sum up overall though i would say simply BUY THIS GAME...........play it late at night with the headphones on and i guarantee you will not feel safe!!!!

This combined with the dvds/blurays create a very real and believable and enjoyable setting worth sampling.

Atmospheric and addictive to say the least.

Very rarely should a game tick every part of a game that is needed with this genre!
Story line - You will be sucked in from the first scene until youre eyes are too sore to continue with many twists and a great plot.
Gameplay - There is not one part of the game that allows you to get bored or critisize any repetitive nature.
Graphics - Simply put....PERFECT for the game that this is, not once have I noticed a glitch
Sound - To me this is where the game finalizes your ideal gaming experience, There are so many parts you hear things and think.."did I just hear that?" or you just simply jump out your seat!
Overall I feel the only negative is that other games have not took a leaf out of this epic game to provide us all with better long lasting value of money, granted I would only reccomend this for people over 18 as there are scenes strickly shouldnt been seen by the younger audiance.

 superb.

if youve played the first dead space you can pretty much expect the same in this game but i don't say that as a bad thing! the story continues in dead space 2 as you once again take control of Issac Clarke and find yourself battling against the necromorphs. brilliant sequel to the hit dead space, and a surprise return of the ISS Ishimura! scary as hell, well done EA!

 Pure class!

Wow what a game! I didn't think you could beat the original dead space, but the follow up has much better graphics and an even better mix of necromorphs! Excellent story line and gameplay a true must for any survival horror fan! Certainly not for the faint hearted!! Ha! 10/10
